I may be completely wrong but that looks an awful lot like the driving range at AlcaIdesa.
Correct, it's where my brother lives, played heathlands yesterday shot 86 and 35 points playing off 13A friend spent his last 3 years in the navy located in Gibraltar. He was getting me and a few other mates a long weekend there with accomodation and a weekend pass for both the links and heathland course at alcaidesa for someone silly like £100 all in.
Unfortunately he and his family moved back here to sunny Wales a few weeks ago!
Played in a society day yesterday - despite shooting 37 points I was hugely disappointed in the score.
On only 1 par 4 did my drive leave me more than 60 yards from the green and again bar 1 hole I was on the fairway too!.......I got up and down....once!
I also had an out of bounds (from not knowing the way the hole went in fairness), a top on a par-3 (then took another 4 shots!), left a shot in a (rock hard) bunker and had 4 3-putts!
Oh what could have been!
Playing off 8 you're never going to be in with a shot of winning but I could have done so much better!
Woldingham was the course by the way

Console yourself with your Tour-leading driving though. That's a real asset if it's reliable. On only 1 par 4 did my drive leave me more than 60 yards from the green and again bar 1 hole I was on the fairway too!.......I got up and down....once!

Had the last weekend of the season just gone.
Saturday was one of the majors that had be re-arranged from earlier in the season. Was Bogey format, which I'm never a fan of, but made it round in 80 shots to finish 2 Down on the course. Was my first competition of 7 so was happy to make buffer - could have been lower but the wet conditions made wedge play a bit of a lottery, had a couple of very fat attempts, and a couple of hosel rockets as I tried to shallow things out on the way through.
Yesterday was a bit silly. Was the Medal Winner's end of season comp, but the rain overnight had pushed the course over the edge to a point we shouldn't have been on it. Sodding wet everywhere, it really wasn't much fun. I ended up shooting 88 which was my worst result of the season, but not going to be too downhearted as most people were having a nightmare. Not the best way to finish the season, but my scores before that had gone 79, 78, 77, 80, 81 and 80, so I was probably due a big number in fairness.
Now just the 6 month wait til the next medal :/

Drives yesterday were averaging about 280 too which given the weather, a shaft that's a little too whippy (too much spin = no roll) and soft ground I was very happy with!

I love that place. Some fantastic views.

Try and get him back over 😁 lol that is a good price as its not the cheapest place to golf.
We play Don Julia tomorrow and then San roque (New) on Friday can't wait.

We played the 2010 and Montgomerie courses back in March.
It's all very well organised with your clubs being taken to the practice range in advance, scheduled pick-ups, etc.
I quite enjoyed the 2010, although I did play reasonably well that day. For me, it's a course which has been ticked off the list, but there are certainly others I rather play before rushing back there.
As for the Montgomerie, never again would I want to traipse around that place - hated it. The entire course feels like an afterthought, set into some scrappy hillsides they had lying around.
I think it’s fair to say that if Monty designed the course, he certainly never walked it. I was certainly glad of a buggy when I played it. It would have killed me on foot. It's all very well organised with your clubs being taken to the practice range in advance, scheduled pick-ups, etc.

I thought the Roman Road was a better course.

Got my first ever hole in one last Saturday playing my regular Saturday dawn slot on my local 9 hole course here in Miami. Cost me a few beers with breakfast, but good fun. In the context of a poor round (finished 8 over) it’s was more than a bit surprising.
Have kept the ball in question, am debating how to preserve it as a memento.

Congrats, awesome achievement. Like you I too had my first ever hole in one a good few months back (40ish years of playing golf). Whenever I play that same hole, I have yet to even come close to achieving the same feat!Have kept the ball in question, am debating how to preserve it as a memento.
Very soggy round yesterday with the society with some very low stableford scores. 21 players, almost half under 20 points.
I was playing badly, thinking it couldn't get any worse, when I came to the 15th 187 yard par 3 with 50 yard carry over water. Not only did the ball go in the water but the club head snapped off and also took a dive.
Is it worth trying to hunt down a TaylorMade Speedblade 5 iron? Or is a new set of irons in order? Or is it time to give up altogether?
