1/7th of the way there for just 2 wickets.

We need 16 batsmen.

We'll be all out before home time. Only a question of when.

Let’s just hope that Joe Root as captain and senior player keeps Joe Denly confident but safe during overs

119-2.

1/3rd of the way there, plenty of time and many more overs of bowling in the hot sun to go.

It's the hope that kills you.

Still time for us to collapse before the close. Save everyone turning up tomorrow.

It’s going to be REALLY painful if this goes on till tomorrow afternoon.

Denly, what a shame only 50 mins to go.

Cmon England just hold it together for the rest of the day.

Denly cannot watch the ball when it's short. Easy for me to say on my sofa, but he's putting his head down before impact.

Anyway, a useful 50.

Come on Stokes!

Do they do short ball avoidance training in the nets? Bounce a few tennis balls down and try and avoid them.

Why are they still playing at loose balls and/or trying to get quick singles? Here is the everyman guide to Test cricket. Ball outside leg = tickle off the hip for a run or two. Ball outside off = LEAVE IT. Chance for a quick single: LEAVE IT.
Quite right. They’re playing a 1 day / 20/20 game. It’s a test match, if the bowler screws up, don’t go after the loose ball, unless it’s a sitter, not many have been. A top 1st class test batsman should be able to work out what the ball’s doing, none of this rabble seem to be able to do so.

Because the Aussies are bowling really, really tight...you can’t just stay there you have to score some runs as well. CricViz just put these stats out in a Tweet :-

Josh Hazlewood spell

7 overs
4 maidens
3 runs
1 wicket

60% on a good line
83% on a good length
50% on a good line and length

One in two balls was in the perfect Test match area and that’s reflected in his figures. Superb and crucial spell.
