Morning All,

I know we are already on the 4th T20, but its a busy tour and lots of matches coming up.

48 ball century this morning Malan taking England to our highest T20 score

Feels a bit flat after the World Cup win, but we really need to sort the Test side out

I think it will be a great test series and looking forward to spending the night time hours with my headphones on listening to TMS. It's better than sex.

I'll have to stay up for the T20 decider this Sunday 1am. I am going to listen to the TMS coverage this morning after the dog walk, sounds like some epic batting.

The spirit of the game is far better against NZ than Aussies with both sides very sporting. I want England to win, but after the world cup if it is a close test series and they win I will be first to applaud.

One NZ Spinner went for 28 from one over. Ouch !

Sounds brutal hitting, Morgan 91 of 41 balls !

Alex Hales, you silly boy...if he wasn’t such a lad, we could have one of the most feared batting line ups in the world.

Obviously the T20 series came down to a super-over. Great for the game to have close results! smile

Some amazing cricket.

Chris Jordan 12 off the last three balls to tie the match. Bairstow 47 off 18 balls. A super over and all kinds of batting carnage.

Looked fun. Shame the time zones means is total impractical to watch it.

Two tests to come.

Agree! Both last T20's been really fun. Teams are so close.

Good for our T20 team before the next big tournament... I can see us winning that T20 to add to our world cup!

Hopefully not spoken too early.

Will be listening to the test series. have a cricket ball in the bedside cabinet my wife bought me for headphone times ... biggrin

What sorcery is this ?

50/0

A score unheard of in all of English Cricket ever smile

Sibley looks terrible, this is just luck and NZ will have us 87 all out

Watched the first ten overs or so last night....had never seen Sibley bat before. My thoughts were pretty similar to when I saw Burns bat against Ireland last summer at Lord’s...he’s not for test cricket with that techinique! That said what I saw there was decent short election and England are clearly trying to bat long which to be honest is very good to see. I think Sibley would have had a torrid time against the Aussies last summer but hopefully he and Ollie Pope can have a good tour and go from strength to strength. As we all learnt last summer.....text book technique is not always required to be a world class cricketer.

Still not over the fact that Root came in after 45 overs last night :-) Hoping this first session will be a little more ambitious tonight with Stokes in and Buttler to come.

Don’t seem to learn do we. Get the foot on the throat and keep it there.

Stokes must be furious, does all the hard yards and then this.

Expect Buttler is pissed too, now he has to swing away instead of batting like a test player.

If anyone comes back later to ever question Buttler in the test side and quotes his average, yeah, its moments like this that screw it up.

The first day's batting was something we hadn't seen for a long time.

NZ being very patient in today's first session.

Watched the first session....we lacked any kind of energy in the field and also seemed pretty negative with the ball. Archer was used in short burst bowling short to a field set with three deep fielders waiting for a catch. Disappointing stuff. Felt like some of those turgid displays in the field when Cook was captain. I hope this isn’t an indication of how Silverwood want the side to play.

I cannot muster any fks to give, its a long way away in the middle of the night and I am pretending its not happening.

Something something experimental side, rebuilding.

Root remains a terrible captain apart from all the others we haven’t got. Bowlers bowling to short, Leach still looks a better batsman than someone in the top four every innings. Broad hasn’t got it on a flat track anymore.

Apart from that - yeah all is peachy.

Exactly that. The Stokes and Pope dismissals were horrible shots when a steady session was required. Curran was out to a good-ish ball, but going from 276-4 to 295-8 was the turning point.
