Anybody else confused by this compulsory donation thing? Seems as if we are being forced to part with cash and forced to be appreciative whilst doing so. Maybe I’m reading it wrong. Anybody got a clearer idea? Is this happening nationally?

Not really.

I'm assuming you got the same DL email as me - if you look at the first paragraph it says they want "to update you on the options available for crediting the days of membership in March". For April, May and June they haven't been charging us anything, so this is reparation for the days in March when they were charging us for membership, but were closed.

Having said that, it also says "and for the expected first few days of July, when the Club has been temporarily closed following government instruction" - I'm interested to see what they're going to be doing about fees for July onwards as I've had a quick scan of the Government guidelines about how gyms are supposed to operate and there's not a chance in hell I'd voluntarily pay for access to a gym that functioned in that manner!!! Certainly not a hundred quid a month anyway.

Slightly off topic, but when I moved to the area I joined DL Ringwood, having been at an Esporta in Bracknell.

It was OK, but not a patch on the Esporta clubs. What pissed me off about DL Ringwood, was changing rooms far far too small & no towels unless you paid extra for some higher level of membership. Outdoor pool area in summer wasn't bad if you had a quiet day.
