Are you clubs insured in your car? Mate of mine had his car broken into in wimbledon( keyless entry) and clubs were pinched..he was lucky to claim on his policy as most don't cover car thefts...
Reckon a good set of photos stored away will be handy if ever the worst happened!
Aye I noticed the Nike putters in there - even though it's been 6 years now I'm struggling to get over Nike not making clubs any more. They weren't always great, but when they got it right (mostly irons wedges and putters) they were probably the best in the business.

On the Insurance side I'm with GolfPlan, which covers club theft, 3rd Party liability, range finders etc - it's even got Hole in One cover which would cover my bar bill should I ever manage it. In all honesty, given the amount of rare Nike stuff I've got it would be tough to replace, so if the car is staying anywhere else but home, the clubs get left in the living room.

That's a sexy titliest bag!

Current set up is:

Standard Maverick 9* with fuji atomismtour spec shift
Sim 2 3 wood set to 17* with matching Fuji shaft
Old 917 H1 hybrid, 21* with stock stiff shaft
Titliest U505 bent to 21* with Fuji atoms your spec shaft
Mizuno JPX 921 forged 5-PW
Mizuno 50, 54 and 58* wedges
Odyssey triple track #9 putter (TM spider copy)

As you can see, have been intending on swapping the hybrid out for a TM Stealth/SIM2 in 19* (set to 20*) so I can take the 3W back down - already find the utility goes 190-200 vs the hybrid at 200-220 (summer) despite loft commonality. Very different ball flights though!

I can’t be bothered to go the the garage and get them out as it’s tipping it down but they are:

Taylormade M2 driver (being replaced soon)
Taylormade Sim 2 3 wood
Taylormade Sim 5 wood
Cobra Radspeed 21 degree Hybrid
Cobra Radspeed Irons 5-GW
Vokey SM9 54 degree wedge, D grind
Taylormade MG2 58 degree wedge
Oddesey stroke lab One putter

Quite looking forward to the driver fitting as the M2 is 12 degrees and just goes too high for me. The rest of the bag I’m pretty happy with. I also very rarely hit my three wood, I do contemplate why I carry it.
I'd struggle every day if I was driving that. Nice flex! wink

Had similar with the Exige, powerkaddy in the passenger seat, clubs resting over it and into the footwell. Was very, very tight. Now it's gone getting it all in the X5 is a doddle

I've never been insured for my Golf stuff before but I think it's a good idea. When I'm in London, I play with colleagues and end up leaving our cars/clubs in fairly questionable areas.

Clubs, trolley and everything else would be eye-watering to replace..

Feel a bit less ridiculous knowing it’s not just me cramming things into a smaller car. Though the motocaddy trolley does fit nicely in the front boot with the wheels off.

Was hoping to play 18 today but it’s been rained off. Getting rather sick of this weather.

The plan I'm on was 45 quid for the year, which seemed a bit of a no brainer. There is an excess of 500 quid if your clubs are stolen from a car, but everything is covered - clubs, trolleys and even rangefinders.

May be interesting if I have to make a claim as most of my clubs are NLA, let's just hope it doesn't come to that....

It's a nice problem to have smile

In fairness I've found my 1 Series Coupé has the perfect size boot for golf - can get all my kit in and the clubs go in without taking Drivers out, which always annoys me for some reason. Gets a bit more complex if someone wants a lift, but still doable.

“Get to 13 handicap by end of summer 2022

Try and “play” 3 times a week incl practice and games

Continue with regular lessons

Meet new people at the club and get some regular playing partners & competitions

Play at least 3 top quality courses”

Copied my 2022 entry. Actually managed to achieve all these.

Would really like to double down in 2023. I have moved to a new coach in October and am really committed to improve -to be honest I’m obsessed with golf! Been playing 18 months - now working on the transition from new golfer with classic slicer swing to a proper swing. (like -10 path to +). Boy it’s hard work but very rewarding - I will post some vids of the changes at some point but the difference is like night & day.

I’ve moved a new golf club - mainly because the practice facilities are great but it’s also a very good course (overlooking the sea) with a very friendly membership. Barton on Sea - for future PH golf meet biggrin

Not going to do a list of 2023 goals but just want to continue to get better, practice hard and hit great looking and feeling shots. And do at least 3 golf trips abroad.

No way - my golf buddy's Grandad was a member at Barton on Sea. He is incredibly keen to get us all down there for a game. I'm up for it as the place looks lovely, bit of a trek from Staffordshire though.

Well worth the trip when the weather improves. I pre-bought a bunch of green fees at a reduced rate when I joined so happy to share these.

Small world. My grandparents lived round the corner from the course for many years by the Cliff Hotel. It’s an area I know well and that course always looked nice when we drove past.

Barton is good fun, plus the 3x9 layout offees a bit of variety. Little tricky when the wind is up (which is most of the time).

My goals this year:
Handicap cut from 8.9 to 5.0 by year end.
Qualify for the qualifiers for our club championship.

So despite a fast enough swing speed I've dropped back down to reg shaft for driver to try and focus more on my release. The pro got me on the latest Callaway rogue with a bit of draw added and my hits were vastly improved. Therefore the old Taylor burner and ping g30 (stiff) are out and I've just bought a 2018 rogue reg. I can't justify the £429 price of the new one when my swing isn't good enough... Very grown up decision for me!!

Also I got the lazrus wedge set delivered from America £130. Honestly they're excellent.

Happy golfing all

Nice bag! Out of interest, do you carry your clubs a lot?
It depends entirely on a couple of factors:

If it's just a quick round/few holes on on my own - carry.
If it's demanded by the course due to wet conditions - carry.
If i'm trying to get fit/lose weight - carry.

If it's a comp or predicted to rain - electric trolley as i can take my waterproofs/brolly.

Cool bag!!!

Premium materials make it a little heavy but carrying is a nice workout...was looking at one of these but not got any titleist kit so didn't buy it

I have that bag (players 4) in dark blue/fluo yellow that i'm about to move on that is ridiculously light after acquiring my new bag, probably only used around 8-10x.

It's interesting as there are studies out there that show how detrimental carrying a bag can be for not only your game but also your fitness - and the fact that you burn hardly any extra calories by carrying.

I play with guys that carry a full 14 clubs and it just makes me scratch my head, I really can't see any benefits other than having to carry due to abnormal ground conditions.

Switching to a PowaKaddy was one of my better ideas last year.

Interesting points above.

Played my first round of the year yesterday and I wasn't nearly as bad as I thought I might be, which was a positive. Started off horrendously for the first 3 holes, could barely strike the ball, particularly with driver, but got better as it went on. Grouped up with some others during the round who were lovely people, and also clearly beginners, which was nice. We formed what was then the last group out so it didn't matter if we were slow. The wind was wicked cold though, and when I got back into the car, my neck/shoulders were really sore from being tensed and braced against the cold. Straight in the bath when I got home! I think I will look to pick up a gilet, if anyone has any recommendations?

WRT the points above, it was also my first outing with my Ben Sayers electric trolley that I got for my birthday in late November. I really enjoyed it, much more than I thought I would! I do like carrying and thought it was probably better for my fitness, but I will have to give the link above a read! The only downside I found to the trolley was the extra cleaning and setup/takedown hassle, which I might not bother with if I'm just getting a quick 9 in after work. Otherwise it was really cool!
