Booked in for a Titleist driver fitting at their national centre in Cambridge in 2025.

Currently playing a '22 Rogue ST Max (Tensei blue)

Fancy a GT2 with a Ventus Red...
If you've got the full Titleist range to play with worth trying what they call the GT2.5. It's the GT4 with a heavy weight in the back and seems to be a bit of a monster from what I've heard.

I did try a normal GT4 earlier in the year and it was a fantastic thing, slightly more accurate than my TS4 and loads better feeling.

Cheers Bodhi

They should have the full range and work have just sent me a £200 voucher for 10 years' service so in my head, the driver is almost free...hehe

At a minimum, the £200 will offset the upgraded shaft that I will get 'shafted' for.. smile

I was hoping they would get a demo GT4 in the shop, but they haven’t. Just the 2 and 3. We get a surprisingly poor selection of demo clubs given the options they have in the fitting bays.

The GT3 is getting good reviews from the low players at the club who have been fit into it. Apparently it’s very marginally longer then the TSi/r but much more consistent across the face, especially off the heel, the GT doesn’t spin up too much.

RayDonovan. When are you over?

Wasn’t impressed by tadmarten a few years ago when it was somehow in the English top 100. It’s not offensive but it shouldn’t be near that list imo..
Tadmarton is the club with the biggest history, never played it but will one day as missus is from Banbury so I can dump her somewhere for the day lol

Rye hill adjoining Tadmarton is OK and plays dry on a lot of the holes.

Cherwell is ok and a members club but nothing special. Gary boyd who was on the euro pro is based there and from the village where the course is.

I take some of these "Top XXX" list with a pinch of salt. They are usually organised by publications with pages to fill.

e.g.: I played at La Cala years ago when they only had two courses.

On the strength of that I went back there in 2023 and played the Europa course. It was st. The resort was overrun, grubby and impersonal. Yet you still see it ranked fairly highly. Any publication that recommends this course clearly has played there or doesn't know a good course from a bad one.

Of those courses I mentioned I have played in 2024 these are my favourites:

Cleeve Hill
Delamere Forest
Dumbarnie
Huntercombe
Ladybank
Little Aston
Nefyn

Quite fancy Little Aston, I think they run an Open comp down there yearly.

On holiday in Thailand and currently playing the courses around Pattaya, after Christmas playing around Hua Hin. 30 degrees but enough breeze to keep it sensible.

My dislike of the absurdly complicated WHS continues, playing well but don't think there's a straight forward way of entering my scores without involving the pro shop at each club?

I try and play the occasional top 100 course, uk or England, played getting on for half of them but I’m not paying the money for most of those in the top 20. About a oner is my max I can justify, just don’t enjoy paying much more and not playing well..

Hidden gems of the year (reasonable cost don’t get talked about much) luffenham, York golf club, Scarborough south cliffs… and a note on my own course Peterborough Milton, just joined last year played it more than I anticipated, cool thing is I feel I can take anyone there off any hcap and they will enjoy. It’s also holding up well in the winter won’t be on temps much

All within a reasonable distance of the Cambridgeshire courses. Have I missed anyone out? Let's get something sorted this coming year for sure!

Looking at Google Maps I'm a couple of hours away, however with enough notice and a mid morning onwards tee time you can add me to the list smile

Also, thought this was a really nice moment

My bag is finally complete… I’m a TaylorMade fanboy, I’ve got a 2017 M2 driver, TM RSi 1 irons (4-Sw) but I’ve been using a blade putter from the 90s, so I’ve upgraded to a TM Ardmore 2 and I’ve added a TM M6 5 Wood! Can’t wait to hit my next 120+ hehe

Did anyone watch the PNC over the weekend ? I’m certainly no fan of Tiger but was not impressed with the action of Bernard Lange yesterday, and would go as far as to say their were a few questionable moments including his shot out of the bunker and where he was standing and his actions on the green whilst team Woods were putting.

Not to mention his putter anchoring, also seemed laughable he had another 50 yards tee benefit from the juniors too at times. Outdriving Charlie on the last seemed slightly silly.

I’ve long held the view that Langer shouldn’t be held in as high a regard as he is. The goings on at the PNC reinforce that.

It’s a hit and giggle far as I’ve heard

The tees were by age so you can’t really penalize him for looking after himself imo

Hate the long putter full stop. It’s nonsense anchored or not
