Did anyone watch the PNC over the weekend ? I’m certainly no fan of Tiger but was not impressed with the action of Bernard Lange yesterday, and would go as far as to say their were a few questionable moments including his shot out of the bunker and where he was standing and his actions on the green whilst team Woods were putting.
It's rather competitive now the pnc.No excuses though for this if it happened.

I didn't see any of the dubious behaviour, but I was hugely impressed with Charlie Woods aged 15, he has a lovely swing.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZi7oMAmJOU

My 9 year old son was so surprised and happy that he burst into tears when he received his new set of Ping Prodi G clubs this morning. An unexpected fitting had been organised earlier in the month by the elves in order to get the clubs made in time.

He’s a lucky boy. That is a sweet set. Santa brought a new bag and a pair of Taylormade Hi Toe wedges for my lad. Nothing golf related for me though.
A belated Merry Christmas to my favourite online golf buddies!
Yesterday actually ended up in a decent presents haul in golf terms, got Sticky golf Pro (a bar game you hit velcro golf balls at a target), some hand warmers, a lovely map of golf courses in the UK.
However the wife excelled herself, two tickets to the Saturday at the BMW PGA next year, with seats in the grandstand at 18

Merry Christmas chaps, this is one of my very favourite parts of PH, pleasure sharing it with you all
Some great presents above, the Ping set looks amazing!
Thank you. He is over the moon with them. Driving range yesterday and 9 holes today in 42. So pretty good for a first round with unfamiliar clubs.

A question for the more "technically-minded" of us...
I hit a couple of drives yesterday that felt absolutely nutted, but when I got up to them they'd gone about 220 and 230 yards. The shorter of the two was into a very light breeze (unless it was blowing more up high) on an open links course, so the ground was quite firm (although it's not proper links sandy stuff). I'm normally expecting to carry the ball about 240, so I was really surprised to see them so short. Even with no roll I would've thought they'd be longer than they were.
Like I say, it was a tiny bit breezy, and it was about 3 degrees. Only a couple of holes earlier, I'd hit one about 260 with a strike that didn't seem as good.
Before I go and fiddle with the settings on the driver that I've just had fitted, I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knows if these numbers seem sensible in these wintry condition? I do have a very high ball flight with this driver, and it is 10.5 vs 9.5 degrees. I'm wondering if as I'm hitting it faster, I'm putting too much spin on it and it's climbing too high. I'm loving the driver in terms of confidence, it goes much straighter than the previous one, but I'm not going to give up tens of yards!
Important to note I haven't actually had a range session with this yet, only played out on the course

There are a few possible reasons. Golf balls don't go as far when it is cold. The loft is going to give a higher launch/flight, so you could try teeing the ball lower. You could be hitting down on the ball, instead of flushing it, you need to make sure that you are staying behind the ball with the driver.I hit a couple of drives yesterday that felt absolutely nutted, but when I got up to them they'd gone about 220 and 230 yards. I wouldn’t overthink it this time of year tbh

If it’s like most links I know the fairways are undulating so there will be a big difference in total yardage depending on if you hit an upslope or downslope.. sorry to state the obvious!

Yeah, this course is pretty flat so I don't think it's that. I'm going to go to the range today and try it out. Not necessarily fiddle with settings, not sure I have a wrench with me, but just seen if the numbers match what I'm expecting I wouldn’t overthink it this time of year tbh

To compare accurately you’d need a session on a launch monitor.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it until spring.

I've never seen clubs so clean after a round! As soon as he gets home the clubs are being cleaned so they are ready for next time. Yesterday he progressed into the quarter finals of the all sections Stableford competition at the club he gets his lessons at.
Love this!
First round of my SA trip, now down to 4 rounds due to diary clashes.
Yesterday was St Francis Links, #3 course in the country (apparently) and a DP Tour venue. It was epic, very, very tight. Miss the fairway and you're done...not ideal in 20-30mph winds! Lost 3 balls and still managed an 82 (+10/34 points) which I'll take given the new course/conditions!
