I've been playing this silly game for 35 years and still haven't managed my first outside of a simulator. I've had a few eagles on Par 4s after hiking my second, no hole in ones tho.
. As I said, I am still buzzing. Another player here who’s played for almost 20 years. Have scared a HIO properly once, wedged about a foot past the hole, it spun back off the hill & horseshoed round the hole. My mate who I was playing with was busy on his phone so didn’t see it.

Bit of a random one. I have a pair of FJ Hyperflex & when I wear them, my feet always feel ‘tired’ or fatigued after 18 holes….does anyone else experience the same with their golf shoes? Worth trying insoles? 35 y/o male - fairly fit. Seem to be fine in the summer wearing spineless golf trainers (my sambas are so comfortable they became my usual day to day trainer!).

Martyr to my feet.. tried every insole combination but ultimately it’s such an individual thing Eg loads of recommendations for sketchers but didn’t work for me.
Currently on adipowers. I think you just have to work through the brands
Most comfortable golf shoes I've had by a mile are my Air Max 90s, done 36 holes in a day in them a few times now and they haven't let me down.
Only issue with them is having no soft spikes they're useless in winter, so have got a pair of Sketchers for that. However as soon as the course dries out they get put in the cupboard and the Air Max come out.

Probably sacrilege but does anyone on here use an electric trolley? I’ve just got a Motocaddy S1 from FB Marketplace as it was relatively cheap.
A bit of a gamble as you never know how good the batteries are when buying second-hand but this is a 2021 model, so hopefully it’ll do 18 holes with relative ease.

I have osteoarthritis in both ankles, walking the course is hard, but something I don't want to give up yet, and so footwear is of the upmost importance to me, this is what works for someone with no cartilage in their ankles:

I have the True OG Premium but they don't seem to be a current model, similar to the OG Tour or 1.2, the main points for me are that they are zero drop, and have a wide toe box, I would suggest sizing up. They are a little expensive, but when foot comfort is everything, scrimping is foolish, I found this out late in life, despite the widely known advice about shoes and mattresses

Enertor, absolute game changers, Bolt uses them, and they are made in the UK, which I think is cool. Worth trying in your current shoes first, as a money saver.

Socks make a massive difference to fatigue, I use knee high ones all year, but even the ankle ones will help in the summer.
Without the above 3 things, I would still be using a buggy, which is just not the same, maybe try the socks and insoles first, I appreciate the shoes are expensive, but they are very well made, and sales do come up occasionally.

During the winter months I carry half a set in a lightweight bag with the minimum of kit.

I got my Motocaddy M3 Pro DHC trolley in 2020 and the 18 hole battery can still manage 36 holes - you should be OK. A bit of a gamble as you never know how good the batteries are when buying second-hand but this is a 2021 model, so hopefully it’ll do 18 holes with relative ease.

I used to carry everywhere with my sunmountain bag which was reasonably comfy. I thought that everyone should carry if possible……
But I switched to a clicgear push trolley a couple of years ago as I’d run out of things to ask for Christmas so stuck one of these on my list.
It’s night and day in terms of keeping a round going imho. The fatigue of carrying definitely has an effect and a proper trolley sure makes a difference to the last few holes - not sure how much by, but in a game of small margins, I’ll take every marginal gain I can.
I can imagine that an electric trolley is another step up.
If it's any help (and it's probably not), I've got an electric trolley and I've stopped using it in favour of carrying. My bag is pretty light and now I'm getting better I don't need to carry anywhere near as many balls as I used to! Carrying gives me a bit more freedom to move about the course and one less thing to think about (in terms of where to leave it, and also in terms of having to remember to charge it up)
Also, if I'm being perfectly honest, I'm a big believer in the whole, look good, feel good, play good mantra and if you like the equipment you play with and are comfortable in the clothes you wear it can only be a good thing. What's the saying... dress for the handicap you want, not the handicap you have? Something like that, anyway
