Another trolley user, converted in 2020. Found it immediately took a shot or 2 off my scoring, mainly by playing better on the back-9 (so much so it's normally the lack of warm up that does me over now!)

Got a CT6 powerkaddy so it would fit in my Exige, found it to be poor build quality. This near-gives up most games (battery switch) which coupled with a broken screen (has to be the whole £250 handle) and regularly sticking power wheel will make me go to a different brand next time.

Amazed you get a power trolley and clubs in an Exige!

Motocaddy M5 - bought in 2020(?). Has the bigger battery, so if I forget to take it out the car I'm not screwed for the next round.

Carry during the winter months.

Works well for me. I like the gps screen on the M5. I like not having to carry during the summer. Good bit of kit, can't complain. (Have had 1 thing go wrong - the scroll wheel became unresponsive. Bought another one on ebay for £10-15 and changed it out - all good).

Very rare to see non-electric trolleys at our club in season nowadays.

Another M5 user here, wouldn't be without in summer now. I've got the matching Motocaddy bag (think it's the AquaFlex) so it locks on at the bottom really easily. Like most others I carry in winter but find I'm switching over later and later these days.

Battery life is superb, can often finish 18 and the battery indicator is on full, and easily got 36 out of it at Hawkstone Park last year with a quick 20 mins charge between rounds, and that's the 18 hole battery.

It's a snug fit in the back of the 1 Series and doubt it would fit if I had the hatchback.

Well, I’m quite surprised to be in such exalted company - I thought I’d be banned from the thread!

Only got it yesterday so not used it in anger yet. Did notice that it veers quite severely to the right when it starts off (up and down my hallway) - need to load my bag on and see how it performs there but I’ve read that you can fix the front wheel tracking easily enough.

I've been carrying since I broke my trolley a few months back (figured as it's winter now I'll just fix/replace it when the weather gets better), and I've definitely noticed the fatigue towards the end of a round. Though it may be to do with the fact that I stuff it with various items of clothing, lunch, flask of tea etc so it usually weighs a ton

If anything I've gone the other way, carry more and more these days albeit with a very light single strap bag and usually only 12 clubs and half a dozen balls, tees and a towel for company! Also normally 3 hour or less rounds - probably wouldn't do so if they were 4+ hour rounds though!

I know I was a trolley advocate a few posts ago (and I still am for sure), but my winter setup is a Sunday Golf Loma carry bag with a half set and a flask of bovril

There is something great about a super light setup (as long as you don't need waterproofs and umbrellas etc)

I've scored just as well with a half set in winter as I would do with a full set and a trolley in summer......

Indeed, was tight but found that the trolley (in bag) went on the seat of the bucket, the stand bag (woods removed) just got in too. I couldn't see out of the NA mirror but was never tooooooo much of an issue

Haven't had a chance to post as it's been a pretty full on week with work, but had a lovely game in Texas on Monday at one of the local municipals with a colleague. Called Grapevine GC, was $45 for 18 holes. Course was in really good condition considering the Bermuda was dormant and they've had some very wet in Texas like weather recently.

Had one of my classic rounds, finishing 9 over with two triples and a double played really well considering the jet lag and the dubious rentals, having 3 birdies and lipping out for 3 more.

Course was set up as 3 9s, first was a bit hilly and quite tight in places, second was more open but with lots more water I left a couple of Titleists in.

Highlight was either the 16th where I put my drive in the water, dropped and put a 9 iron a foot away and sank the putt for par, or the 7th which was an uphill 280 yard Par 4 I left my drive 10 yards short. Shame that was one of the birdies putts that lipped out.

Great stuff & sounds like good golf being played & the usual few holes that let us all down! Got to agree RE US courses for value & condition plus playable the entire year round in the south.

A) the vast numbers of Americans that play golf compared to Europeans (over 40 million compared to under 5 million Europeans)
B) the strength of the Korn Ferry and PGA tours compared to the Challenge and European tours

Being honest - no. Just compare how easy it is over here to get a game of golf at a publicly run course where anyone can play, also the strength of College Golf compared to the unis back home.

I went to uni at the home of golf, and playing for the team almost felt like a token gesture - as in, well it's St Andrews we should probably get a golf team together.

Compare that to even smaller colleges over here like Oklahoma then..yeah well.

I see that the LPGA have toughened up the rules on pace of play with shots deducted for not hitting the acceptable times per round. What a great move. Nothing annoys me more than slow play, so well done them. Why should a round of golf take 5+ hours. Apparently supported by the players too.

Most "private" clubs in the UK are open to the public, the US has better weather, more land and more consumers with more money hence they tend to have the best facilities in the world for the sports that are popular over there.
