How's about that for GSP's comeback, eh?
Gotta be the best ever, surely.
It was a really good fight. It looked like Bisping was getting the upper hand after those elbows from the bottom but great finish from GSP.Gotta be the best ever, surely.
Also agree that GSP is the GOAT

Very good finish from GSP I thought he was starting to looked gassed a little and the left hook came at just the right time for him.I think Bisping should retire now he has got nothing to prove can be argued he has over achieved and reached his goal has had a hard career and it will be a struggle to get back to the top now hopefully he is set for life.
Gentlemen, a point of order please. We don't discuss results without using the spoiler tag for a few days.
Having said that...
3 for 3? AND NEW......
Amazing, I would have lost a shed load betting on that result. I picked Joanna, Cody, GSP.
Wow. A proper shake up. I expect Bisping to retire now, Reaper Vs GSP, Cruz to retire, Dillashaw Vs Mighty Mouse (catchweight?), Joanna to go to 125.

Yep great card, the ufc has felt a little flat of late, but this was a return to form, i feel the TJ/Garbrant ending might have been a little premature but it's very hard to say.
Agreed on all fronts.Great card all the way up from the prelims.
I think Cody could probably have been given a few more seconds but we'll never know.
I thought Rose looked great and had an answer for everything thrown at her.
I've never been a GSP fan. It looked like Bisping was just getting going and BAM. Will be interesting to see what both of them do next.
I kind of want to see Bisping retire to be honest. He's taken a beating in every fight he's ever been in. Reached the top against many odds. Congrats to him now time to bow out gracefully (Yes I know that will never happen).
Will also be interesting to see what Joanna does next.
What's up next?

Anyone see McNuggets ring invasion at BAMMA? Apparently he was walking around the ring coaching at one of the UFC events as well?!?
UFC have cancelled his next fight - i wonder if hed have failed a drugs test, will he become another Jones - as punishment. What a fking joke
McGregor certainly looks manically high in pretty much all of the videos of him in public recently.UFC have cancelled his next fight - i wonder if hed have failed a drugs test, will he become another Jones - as punishment. What a fking joke
It wouldn't be the first time $100+ million has fked up a young athlete's life!

Random musing: How come you don't ever see a sidekick in MMA? It's the kicking equivalent of a jab if you do it like Bill Superfoot Wallace, or it could be a power kick Bruce Lee style. Everyone went bananas when Anderson Silva front kicked Belfort and that's the first kick anyone learns in karate/tkd etc.
I feel kicking in MMA is quite limited as everyone is so engrossed in the muay thai style of stand-up. You need a lot of fluid backward and forward movement for MMA, so I think point karate and shotokan would probably be more effective than kyokushin or muay thai.

Nah, MMA striking is just poor in general, but it has certainly developed its own style and is nothing like the MT that you'll see in Thailand. That front teep to the face that Silva delivered is a bloody hard technique to land; you could say the same about his jab knockout...that's the first punch anyone learns in a boxing class.
It's all about stances. MMA stances are lower than MT but still quite square. Side kicks really only work from a side on or bladed stance like you see mostly in arts that have points fighting or above waist kicking origins.
UFC live from Shanghai on now... Frankly I don't want to overstate my disappointment but I'm disgusted the UFC would allow Bisping to step back into a fight after loosing only 3 weeks ago (and being choked unconscious in that loss) an extremely cynical move which shows the weakness in the depth of the sport at a pro level.
I feared the new regime at the UFC wanted to create more of a travelling carnival show than a sport and this is definitely that... That said the wife and kids are all out and I've a rare opportunity to sit and watch telly during the day on my own.... So I'm watching it

enjoyed Friday and Saturday's cards this week, Brett John's submission off the single leg defence was superb
Really hard to see where Aldo goes from here, he's a multi millionaire so I hope he retires and enjoys the life he has made for himself, no point damaging his long term health
Alvarez vs Gathje was a great fight to watch, Alvarez making better use of footwork, head movement and variety of strikes was the difference, awesome entertainment though
Yancy Maderios pulling out a win after an absolute war was awesome to watch too
I can't think of anyone in the world id rather fight less than Ngannou (sp), seriously scary man

Fantastic fight. Definitely worth hunting out if you skipped the prelims.I can't think of anyone in the world id rather fight less than Ngannou (sp), seriously scary man
And I agree entirely about the big man.
What an awesome card that was, I’m a massive boxing fan so loved Alvarez work especially the shots to the body a massively underrated and under used array of shots in MMA and they definitely took their toll.
Agree once more with the bug French heavyweight what a unit and a scary scary man! What’s his ground game like?
As for Brett Johns he fights out of the same gym as a mate of mine so great to see him doing so well. Hopefully he’ll have earnt a spot on one of the big cards with that performance
