No doubt the cost implication will be tiny compared to the publicity he's created.
Ultimately his value has just gone up. Just needs to avoid going so far he does jail time.
He certainly is the most entertaining UFC fighter.

If he was that bothered about his title he would have defended it rather than see himself stripped of it.

But he didn't.

Looks like Connor could face a quite serious criminal charge over this, puts the UFC in a real hole. The problem with MMA in general is that the people who partake and especially those that are any good are necessarily a bit unhinged, borderline unmanageable and certainly not to be relied on. Add to that the UFC structure post reebok deal where theyve essentially tried to bring all the fighters in as employees it gives them real culpability when st like this goes down.

The yanks will lap it up though, the uber jock celebration of needless violence is always spilling over into what should be a sport all be it with a serious edge. I've said for the last 18 months that the UFC is on borrowed time, as much as Dana has done and as much as the sport owes him he's made some bad decisions and the corporate dollars are too wise to follow him down a hole.

As fked up as boxing seems sometimes with the various sanctioning bodies and rivalries it's a democratic system that means no boxer, promotion, sanctioning body or stable is bigger than the sport it self and it works, sort of.

It seems of the 5 withdrawals so far 2 are directly due McGregor's action I suspect those fighters may sue him.

They've been unlucky with the Main Event but agree about the wider issues. The circus around it all reminds me of WWE. I just want to see decent fights.

I thought Dana sold his share when the others sold out but agreed to stay on? I don't think it matters too much to him if it sinks

I don't, Uncle Dana seems really honest about it, worrying about him / his cash cow.

NYSAC have really messed around with a few of the fights - I rate Felder far above raging Al (Felder not fighting for the title as not rated). Max had 5lbs left to cut, a non-medical NYSAC stopped the cut.

So, Nurmy will have the title. Joanna will recover her belt I think.

Another fighter has been banned for 2 years.

Finally. Conor - Cock Socket. Just say no kids.

Watched the court hearing last night and certainly didn't sound like a PR stunt. I also noticed that McGregor (through an attorney) denied smashing the front coach window. Mind you, a few minutes later I watched a video which was pretty damning evidence that he did.

Whole episode seems a bit bizarre really and you'd think with all that cash and a young family, he would find better ways of filling his time.

Saved the card. The rest wasn’t a classic.

In the last 18months from the top of my head...

Brock lesnar headlining UFC 200.

3rd, 4th and however many more chances for John Jones to basically take the piss.

Over use of some fighters, specifically for me Cowboy cerrone, I don't see how anyone with title ambitions in any combat sport can fight 6 times in a year, or whatever It's been.

Allowing Bisping (or forcing him) to fight 2 weeks after his loss to GSP, that's borderline negligent in my opinion. There is no way anyone with independent responsible management and advice would be doing that, its like something from the Victorian bare knuckle prize fights of the east end.

The whole Rhonda thing was silly, and the path of that belt post Rhonda hasn't been well managed, Yes we want competitive matchups but as in boxing its nice to allow a champion, like Holly, a breather after such an epic win, putting her straight back in with Meisha Tate was cruel.

Turning TUF into some weird cross between X Factor and Jeremy Kyle.

Not promoting might mouse as he should be and deserves to be.

Pandering to Connor and allowing him to go up two weight divisions for a meaningless fight just because it produced good memes and column inches. Imagine Mayweather in his prime at light welter having some daft bout with a hardly ranked super middle weight just because it had "beef".

Pushing Nganou into a fight for the hravyweight title way to early.

The sporting aspect of MMA must be protected if its to succeed as a sport and not just a spectacle. Having a small "roster" of competitors just travelling the globe doing shows isn't enough, its not a sport. Id be much happier having 4 UFC events a year that the guys had earned the right to be in and the bouts were genuinely top tier world title events, i don't mi d watching qualifiers and young guys taking on old timers or journey men but don't try and tell me its a "main event"

Rant over...
