He’s signed a 6 fight deal with the UFC.
With what he's done for the company, I can see him retiring rather than fighting anyone else. Maybe an tune up Aldo fight would be good for him

Yeah but can you imagine how much it would cost to breach that contract? He couldn’t do it financially?

Wouldn't cost him anything if he retires and doesn't fight elsewhere

Conor holds all the trump cards. He is UFC's biggest draw. Khabib earned more at UFC 229 that he has done in his entire career.

Khabibs last fight at UFC 223 had a buy rate of 350k which i believe is his previous biggest PPV rate.

Aldo, Tony, and anyone else calling Conor out are looking for a payday and Dana will want to milk Conor for all he is worth so i cant see a rematch against Khabib being his next fight.

Similarly, if Conor decides he never wants to fight again I am sure UFC would allow it but would try to get him on board in some capacity in fight promotion.

All IMO of course

Well it was only a matter of time before the idea of fully commercialising hooliganism hit the mainstream... I don't know how I feel about this, obviously I watched and will watch again... ;\

I’m not being deliberately argumentative, but I would be staggered if there wasn’t a clause saying that isn’t an option unless it’s on medical grounds.

I think it works that they get paid by the fight. So he wouldn't owe anything as he wouldn't have been paid if he didn't fight.

They could stop him fighting elsewhere (Bellator etc) as he would still be under contract.

Fair comment. I would be interested to see how it’s all worded.

I can see a re-match.

Will be UFC's biggest fight, Conor will want redemption and Khabib will want more money (and believe he can beat Conor easily). The only issue will be the amount of security needed biggrin

Or rematch with the undercard being individual fights from their respective gyms against each other, like they did on TUF with ATT vs (i cant remember now)

Mike Bisping has mentioned a few times that fighters can retire before their contract expires, they just can’t fight elsewhere unless released.

A really good card all the way through, I thought. Let's see if we see Brock back....
