As well as his great striking, Gaethje has very good takedown defence.
I'm sure Khabib would rather have been facing Ferguson next...
He does but his left hook is such a tool that Ferguson didn't even attempt, for fear of it. The attempt at the Imanari roll was embarrassing, as much as I admire the whole technical BJJ thing these days the striking, especially leg kicking, is so vicious that even the very best, like Ferguson, just can't get close enough to the best strikers to get takedowns in. I'm sure Khabib would rather have been facing Ferguson next...
How can one man take so much punishment and not drop? The perfect stoppage for me and the winner really looked better than ever. Khabib May well have his hands full.
Co main was stopped early in my opinion. I understand it’s difficult for the ref having to make a split second decision though.
A bit weird with no crowd but it’s quite cool hearing the crack of the shots landed.
Well done to BT Sport for not making it PPV too!

I thought Ferguson looked off, the long camp and opponent change maybe played a part but, I had Gaethje to beat him anyway, just not in such a conclusive manner. I think Kabib will best him though, different animal altogether than Ferguson. Cruz was stopped too early in co main, but better to early than too late and I guess fighters know that's a risk now.

Jones claims he is vacating the Light Heavyweight title and is done with it all
Good riddance. VEA said:
Very much is, apparently asked White for Wilder type money.
Whilst the UFC don't pay that well, that's crazy.
'Don't pay well' is all relative though. McGregor earned $3M for the Diaz and Khabib fights, so I'm sure JJ would have been offered seven figures to fight Ngannou. Not Fury/Joshua money but then it's a much smaller audience.Whilst the UFC don't pay that well, that's crazy.
I see Ngannou has also been calling out Dillian White, silly boy.

I believe Jones tweeted that he makes "5+ per fight" (presumably that includes his PPV cut) so he's doing pretty well. I guess he's earning a lot less sponsorship money than he used to though after the various legal troubles he's had over the years!I see Ngannou has also been calling out Dillian White, silly boy.
