Ngannou looked class. He is much better now than he was a couple of years ago and a fight against Jon Jones should be epic.

Will we get a third match? On past achievements and the fact Stipe gave Nganou a second bite, he deserves it.

Stipe ate the best shot in the beginning and looked like he had a chance. But Francis came in 30 pounds heavier and a much improved fighter.

I don't see anyone challenging him for the time being, it's going to be a new era. Jon Jones hasn't got a chance. not sure why they're even talking about him. Jones will probably get busted for drugs again before a fight ever happens. Relatively speaking, Jones is a bum and has ring rust.

Miocic deserves a rematch if he wants one but I think that will be a minimum of 6 months away.
The next person I would like to see Ngannou fight is Derrick Lewis, then possibly Cyril Gane.

The Woodley v Luque fight was good while it lasted and Menifield in the pre-lims impressed me with that Von Flue choke.

The first Ngannou /Lewis fight was the worst I have ever seen on UFC, but Derrick is #1 so deserves his shot.

100% agree, both fighters were a disgrace in that bout and it should have been scored a draw as Lewis didn't do much to win it either.

Thankfully both of them are different fighters nowadays, with Lewis being more professional (less body fat & better stamina) and Ngannou going back to his explosive strikes and judging by Saturday's result having a bit more patience and learning to sprawl.

Second that and I've only watched a couple of fights from the main card.

Is this the first UFC in a packed stadium since Covid hit? First time I've noticed a crowd in a while but I don't watch them all.

Having the crowd back makes a massive difference. It's so strange that that should happen to Weidmann after it happened against him with Anderson Silva, I didn't need the slo mo replays. hurl

Third that. Biggbn, I'm sure i know which fighters you refer to and have to agree.

I know why the doctor stopped Crute, but that stinger type of injury can wear off very quickly so I understand his annoyance.
Weidman's injury...that made me wince but isn't it an incredible coincidence that it happened to him the same way as when he fought Silva?

edit: just seen BobsPigeon's post, so ignore my last line.

Fantastic card.

Thug Rose remains one of my favourite fighters to watch. She spent 30 seconds setting that up and sold it beautifully against the best in the world.

Masvidal's ego (and Usman obviously biggrin) got the better of him.

Newbies need to learn about spoilers on this thread.

At least Masvidal had the good grace to admit Usman has his number. Does this mean Usman is the new BMF Champ? wink

In case we are thinking of different fighters...

I think Schevchenkois one of the finest MMA practitioners I have ever seen, and Rose, wow, what Rose did last night was incredible and proved the loss to Andradje was a blip. These two are amongst the pound for pound best fighters in the sport in my opinion.

Oops, forgot the spoiler tags...

Yep. For all the hype around Nunes, I believe if Schevchenko was the same size, she'd beat her hands down. Heck, I agree with those who won their second bout.

Rose is great. All the time she's getting her opponent off balance and never letting them settle.

Cracking card that, just finished catching up.

Still need to watch the prelims, but the main card was bloody great.

Rose was incredible; it's her mastery and control of range. Not only did she set the pattern of the body kicks over the preceding time in the round, she used the feint as a double, double, double bluff; a feint's a feint to draw a reaction, but she also used it to change her rhythm to set up her strike and disguise the half step she took before the feint to close the range to allow the head kick.

As they say, there are levels and as you say there aren't many better pound for pound than her. Great to watch.
