Aspinall is the real deal.

Pimblett loses to Oliveira, Gaethje, Poirier.
I'd agree but add many, many more to the Pimblett list - although expect a few more easy fights to be lined up before he headlines UFC Liverpool at Anfield with Molly co main event against somebody half decent.

Side note - anybody follow onlycans on instagram?

Saturday's card was one of the most exciting I've seen in a long time, amazing showing by the Brits even for the couple where it ended in defeat. I personally don't ever see Paddy being a top 10 fighter but he's always fun to watch. Tom Aspinall has all the skills to be a title challenger and potential champion, I think he beat Lewis Tuivasa etc comfortably. Blades, Stipe, Gan & Ngannou are the ones that will really test him and at HW anything can happen but he's the real deal for sure.

Also keep watching Mohammed Mokaev, what a talent he is, he'll be in the top 10 soon and probably challenging for the title within 2-3 years

So many good looking match-ups.

I love Aspinall and Pimblett, but looking forward most to Paul Craig. That guy has so much confidence in his ground work (with good re/ason)
You weren't wrong! Absolute beast and his triangles are ridiculous.
And that is why Paul is my favourite UFC fighter. He may not quite win the title, but he can beat anyone on the ground.

Jake Paul offered a fight with Kamaru Usman. I don't think he'll be taking up the offer!

The best bet is a Conor McGregor fight although I believe Jake was making some demands of Dana to improve the pay for fighters (which isn't going to happen).

His head movement in guard setting up the triangle was immense,

Chimaev vs Burns was a tremendous fight. Massive respect to both fighters.

Great display from Volkanovski, but KZ looked like a man who is done.
I had Yan winning three rounds vs Sterling, so 48/47 or 48/48 if you gave round 2 to Sterling 10/8.

Comments below

Chimaev / Burns - I'm conflicted on this. In a way, it showed Chimaev has a bit more to his game other than some first round highlight reels and can go 3 rounds. But on the other hand, he got clipped a lot by Burns and looked beatable. If Burns had better cardio he would have taken Round 3 and beaten Chimaev.

Burns is a tough guy but he looked pretty tired. Which I guess is a testament to Chimaev to be able to push a #2 fighter to that. Chimaev didn't get to wrestle much and dominate Burns. Chimaev is a big guy and could fight at the division above too if he put on a bit more weight, or lose a bit and go down - 3 weight divisions are open to him. In my opinion this fight knocked a bit of the hype off Chimaev (for me). If he ends up in the octagon with Usman i'll be betting on Usman to win every time.

Sterling / Yan - the first fight was very....unsatisfying. Yan was dominant in fight 1 and well ahead before throwing a silly knee (which didn't really connect) and Sterling made a meal out of it and managed to win a championship from it.

Fight 2 was quite frustrating. Round 1 nothing happened. Round 2 / 3 Yan gives up his back and spends most of the round trapped in a triangle. These could easily have been scored as 10-8 to Sterling. Round 4 / 5 was frustrating because Yan had a clear striking advantage over Sterling and tried to engage with Sterling on the ground. Sterling looked beatable in the last 2 rounds and Yan didn't capitalise on it. Dana didn't look impressed by the decision before it was read out.

The decision didn't leave as bad a taste in the mouth as Fight 1 but i'd still bet on Yan if there's a third fight.

I always watch with my lad, and we both agree with your Usman comment. I think Chimaev's negligible groundwork was due to Burns being very good there too.

I think Yan was too pumped up and going for a KO at the start to prove some sort of point after fight #1. i'd bet on him for a third fight as well..

Does anyone watch Bellator? I don't usually, but I caught some highlights and it was farcical.

One fight deemed a no contest due to an accidental clash of heads (there were no major cuts and both fighters were conscious) & then the main event went to a judge's decision and they ruled it completely wrong.

Yep saw it on BBC3 so thought I'd have a watch, the missus who only really watches the mains on UFC commented she thought I was watch a 90's UFC rerun

Another UFC event in London in July? Twice in one year!

Once again we don't get any title fights or anything juicy and will just be given a showcase of English fighters. I believe Aspinall / Blaydes is on the card.

I'm seeing rumours of a fight between Nate Diaz and Khamzat Chimaev.

1) Chimaev just beat Gilbert Burns (was ranked #2). What business does #13 (Diaz) have in fighting him?
2) Nate hasn't really got a great record in general and is coming off back-to-back losses. He might be a fan favourite and sells fights by talking crap but he's not up there with the top guys.
3) Why can't we see Chimaev vs Covington?!?

Because a fight Vs Nate is good for business. Covington could conceivably beat Chimaev in which case the gravy train needs to be rerouted.

I agree with you though. Silly fight and only one outcome.

I've read there was an issue with the scales at the hotel giving a false weight. This messed up his weight cut apparently. st way to lose the belt.

Going to be a hell of a fight anyway.
