The supplement market is fairly regulated though, in this country you cant buy some over the counter pre-workouts (im using this as an example) as theyve got something banned in them by the UK Government, despite it having USDA approval.
If it comes from the bigger labs its will be regulated (generally). Have you seen Bigger Stronger documentary on youtube where he makes his own and sells it at an expo?
If a fighter is taking under the counter supplements then how are you meant to regulate something 'illegal'?

Random musing: How come you don't ever see a sidekick in MMA? It's the kicking equivalent of a jab if you do it like Bill Superfoot Wallace, or it could be a power kick Bruce Lee style. Everyone went bananas when Anderson Silva front kicked Belfort and that's the first kick anyone learns in karate/tkd etc.
I feel kicking in MMA is quite limited as everyone is so engrossed in the muay thai style of stand-up. You need a lot of fluid backward and forward movement for MMA, so I think point karate and shotokan would probably be more effective than kyokushin or muay thai.

Have a look at Conor Mcgregor, Lyoto Machida and Jon Jones I agree that sidekicks are effective, particularly against fighters trained muay thai as it's not a traditional MT technique, so there isn't an instinctive block counter to it (unlike say a teep).
I suspect it is also a stance and range thing as well. If you posses Machida's god like ability to judge range, then you can get away with a sideways stance without have your lead leg kicked off a la the photos I posted above. Likewise it helps if you have limbs as freakishly long and are as explosive as JJ.
Also check out Justin Scoggins.
Wonder boys side kick is fking frightening. The reality with a side kick is that unless you are machida, or wonder boy or McGregor is that its slow and your on one leg for a long time (relatively speaking) so you either get punched, someone jumps on your back or you get your standing leg attacked.

Finally, movement on this thread!
Sadly I think that is indicative of the whole UFC thing at the moment. Is it me or is it all just a bit meh? I still have the last two Fight Nights on recorded and unwatched. FredClogs said:

As much as I like Bisping, GSP is the man. However, he's been out of the game for a long time, so who knows? If he can pull this off, GSP can claim to be the best ever MMA fighter. I think currently, it's between GSP, Anderson Silva, Big Mouse Johnson and Fedor.

Did anyone catch that sub Demetrius Big Mouse Johnson pulled off? It was pretty cool.
He's on another level. In complete control for 5 rounds, pretty sole destroying for anyone else in that weight class.Darren Till destroying Cowboy was excellent to watch.
Also enjoyed the Joe Rogan podcast as they watched it.
Till has a great style that makes for entertaining watching. i hope he goes on to full fill his potential.
