I was one of the doubters earlier in the thread. I think (hope) I posted some time ago that he'd convinced me. Today he passed into a higher sporting league.

Aren't there a few outstanding Murray bets on here? Or have they all been settled?

So how many slams do we reckon he'll end up with? I think he'll be up there with McEnroe, Agassi, Lendl and Connors and win 7 or 8.

He can play well enough to make the finals on any surface, if the body is managed carefully he can put himself in a position to win any of the 4 slams for the next 3-5 years. I don't think Nadal will be around much longer, the body has been sacrificed for the early success. I can't see it being anyone other than Andy and Novak, bar a sloppy semi-final loss to a big hitter. Even then, they both hit massive balls and are able to go the distance round after round so it would take a very big effort to take either out. Few big hitters can maintain this level without paying for it in the next round.

Great work yesterday, both exhausted but still able to play at that level.

IM, I keep forgetting but I'll have that charity name for you shortly biggrin

I think he has a shot at 3, but not so sure on Roland Garros.

He's progressed really well this past year. Next up US Open.

He's had a fantastic last 12 months and the No. 1 spot is justly deserved after all the hard work he's put in.

I hear he topped himself after being incessantly bored to death by some Scottish dullard who makes a fortune out of hiting a ball with a bat and droning on about it being some kind of achievement...hehe

Well done to him for all the hard work put in over the season. Has to be a leading candidate for SPOTY.
