mayweather is getting delicious already regarding his upcoming fight against paquiao.first off he wants a bigger tolerance in the catchweight.he wants a big ring(24 ft).he wants bigger gloves.and finally he wants olympic style steroid testing done on pac man.this piece of st is trying to pull a fast one just like he did against the other fella.he basically forced jmm up a couple of weights only to come in too heavy himself and paid a 6000 grand forefit.this guy will do whatever it takes to get out of this fight and if by any slim chance it happens he will try every trick in the book to try and make it an unfair fight in his favour.bigger gloves ,for fks sake.!!headguards? 14 oz pillows??this guy is terrified of getting spako by manny .maybe he could ask manny to gaffer tape one of his arms to his side to give him a bit of a leg up?wker
Floyd is a serial ducker, All he cares about now is keeping that 0. I really hope this fight goes ahead. I'm absolutely covinced, that no matter how impressed i am by Floyd, that Manny will stop him. The Pacman genuinely is as someone said before, cut from a cloth of legends. I'll certianly be wearing my Team Pacquiao t shirt that night! wink

He is definitely a ducker, if he carries on then this will be his legacy.

If he beats Manny, then fair play to him, he can't be criticized any more and will have proved himself against the best. I can't see it though, I was at Pacquiao Cotto in Vegas, and Pacquaios attacks carry blurring hand speed. It's crazy, Floyds gonna get hit from all angles, and Mannys chin is massively underrated. He's gonna take everything Floyd can throw at him. The only way i can see floyd winning is by points, Whereas Manny could take it on points or by KO.

i don`t think he`s worried about hurting his hands! i think he`s more preoccupied with the faces of the vanquished souls of previous pacquiao opponents!

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the chance of a Mayweather stoppage. Remember, Pacman has been hurt by quite a few fighters in previous fights and no-one has really ever put Mayweather in a whole load of trouble.

It's also worth noting that Mayweather was able to rock and physically move the 154lbs version of Dela Hoya whereas Pacman, whilst he was able to thoroughly dominate him, was unable to hurt the weight drained 145lb Dela Hoya.

Also, look at Marquez vs Pacman fight to see what happens to Manny's offense when he is being countered. As I'm sure most of us have boxed in here, we all know that counter punches do not have to be thrown with anger to do damage as they are able to keep your opponent off balance and you can hurt them with punches they can't see. The bottom line is, Pacman has never fought anyone like PBF and PBF has never fought anyone like Pacman.

It's still not a fight I'd want to put money on but I wouldn't be suprised if either fighter won.

actually,no,the best bit was when he kept repeating the word legacy at which point the rugged man mentioned sugar ray robinson and suger ray leonard and the cheeky bd had the affrontery to dismiss leonard for getting stopped by "that whiteboy" hector camacho in `97!!!i hate him so much it`s gone round the dial and i almost love the

hehe

I'm always in two minds. On the one hand, he is arrogant but on the other hand he can be very pleasant about his opponents after fighting them. It's hard to tell whether it's an act or not but it sure as hell earns him his money as everytime he fights people tune in to watch him lose.

I'm not overly keen on him as a person (from what I've seen/heard of him since I've never met him) but as a boxer and I admire him immensely.

Ha that youtube thing was brilliant! Good comparison with Roy Jones at the end I thought. Shame to hear a boxer so unconcerned with anything but money. I still think Floyd is a brilliant fighter though, and am edging slightly on his side for Pacquaio fight, but we shall see... I hope!

i really do think he is so deluded he thinks that the boxing fraternity will whitewash all his shortcomings.people remember the fighters who fight the best.some of the most popular champions in history have records littered with losses but it`s the manner in which they come back from a loss that matters.
a guy who retires with 30 odd fights can not really even be considered in the same breath as these old school fighters who were fighting every week(world titles!)for years.look at battling levinsky, the guy had THREE world title fights in one weekend.harry greb was dead at 32 having had 300+ fights with a 178 unbeaten streak in the middle for good measure!

i thought the idea of a boxing thread WAS to be able to discuss fights/ fighters whether that be to lavish praise or pour scorn.
so,no,i don`t think i`ll be shutting up while there are like minded people talking about current topics within the sport who are responding to my posts or causing response from me.if you don`t like it then don`t engage me.simple as that.

But you ARENT saying anything, or at least anything different siknce the first page. Its been four pages of the same stuff. At least in yer last post you finally just came out and said you hated Mayweather.

All you have done in this thread is given every possible justification, excuse and angle you could come up with to slag him off.

You are the Turbobloke of the sports forum.

It's all personal opinion at the end of the day, and you're practically telling him to shut up, because you don't like what he says, not really necessary is it?

Lighten up.

read back over all the posts.we`ve been talking about weights, different opponents, styles of fighting, styles of defence etc.i note with some smug satisfaction that YOUR posts don`t really carry any substance.as anyone else reading these posts will note over the previous boxing related threads you come out with idiotic comments like "amateur records don`t mean st " or however you phrased it.you then squirm around not making much sense when i clearly demonstrate you are talking bks and then you sulk off for a few days and come back with flippant one liners like a sulking child who has had his legs slapped.
it isn`t only me who has called you on something and made you look like a fool.
i`d like to think(and i`m sure others on here would agree with me)that i make fairly balanced comments about fights/fighters with some background knowledge of amateur pedigree and the history of the sport to illustrate the points i am trying to make.this is why i post up snippets that i feel may be of interest to other boxing fans such as floyd`s insistence on bigger gloves or vitali`s press release about the haye fight.

you have displayed on numerous occasions that when it comes down to the brass tacks of a mildly heated discussion about the sport you are a lot less knowledgable than the other people on this thread.not a problem, of course, but don`t pull me on another "point" of yours and be made to look foolish once again.

as previously stated,if you don`t like my views, you don`t have to engage me.

my particular favourite,by the way, was when you said a few weeks ago "i don`t care if he has hand picked all his opponents, his victories have looked spectacular"..or something like that.this occasion, and the amateur records diatribe have both resulted in you just going quiet.no doubt i won`t hear anything of substance back now either, hey?
brave boy calling me out when you talk such st on a regular basis.perhaps you enjoy making a dhead of yourself.?

That's two unnecessary, inflammatory posts I've read by you in one day - both slagging people off and telling them to 'stop'.

Why don't you stop? Do us all a favour . . .

oh dear!, my interest was pricked by your post fella and when i`ve had a little look at what he was posting yesterday i can`t believe i`ve even bothered to waste my time countering his st comments.all i know is i wouldn`t start a thread with some general sweeping offensive statements about an entire race even if i did believe what i was saying!!don`t think he`ll have the brass neck to pop his head up too soon though!

Ah, not seen that. The one I referred to was him telling Derek Smith to shut up and to stop being emotional in a post Derek had written about his neighbour - who had captured one of the Enigma machines in WW11 - dying. Nice, eh?
