It seems that, so far, common sense has prevailed and any player, that chooses to do so, will still be allowed to protest / take a knee without censure. Although the NFL policy is that players "should" stand during the anthem it has been reiterated that this will not be amended to "must".

As a result, mouthpiece Trump has now said "everyone" should boycott the NFL until players are "forced to respect" the flag & anthem or until players are fired rolleyes He's also threatened NFL team owners with removal of tax breaks, etc, in the hope that might get them to change their stance, but some of the owners appear to have laughed that off with one also pointing out the irony of how many tax breaks Trump's own companies get hehe

Edit - Just seen that Sky are doing a tribute to Kevin Cadle, their long time NFL co-host who died recently, before this weekends game.
I didn't know that, he was great. The NFL coverage just won't be the same for me, a bit like the darts when Sid Waddell died. The two of them definitely added a lot to their respective sports when watching them on TV.

RIP.

It's been hard to be a Raider fan, strong 2-0 start and losses ever since, but an epic one last night against the Chief's with a 31-30 scoreline. Cooper finally switched on. Marred only by Lynch being ejected in the 2nd Qtr, but hey, Raiders are the most penalised team in the NFL smile par for the course.

Set's us up nicely for Buffalo

I didn't know that either, him, Nat Coombs and Mike Carlsson are the face of UK NFL coverage for me, many hours spent listening to them over the years.
RIP Kevin

Actually, bizarrely this season they've not been the most penalised, refs still missed two delay of game penalties on the chiefs that both went for third down conversions.

I caught up with the game this morning, great win, I had a few quid on the chiefs to beat the three point spread and I knew I'd lost my bet so spent the entire game expecting the raiders to suffer a narrow loss, cheered me up no end when I got to the end of the game! smile

Is anyone going to Twickenham today? I passed as it was such a bad experience last year, so would be interested to know if they got their act together this time around.

Just got back after a day at Twickers. I didn’t go last year so can’t compare but I thought it was great fun. The crowd and the commentator got a bit flat once the game was effectively over by the 3rd quarter, but otherwise it was brilliant!

Mrs Challo went to Twickenham on Sunday as said it was good. They have 2 tailgate's now which made it easier to have a few beers before the game. Didn't have any complaints vs last year.

Im going this Sunday so will see.

Sounds like they got their st together at Twickenham. Once inside the stadium, it was fine but the tailgate area and initial security was a shambles. If it's consistently better, will go next year

Security mainly. Won't go into it again as I've forgotten a lot of the detail but I just remember security guards just not knowing what they were doing from the entry points, in the tailgate area, food carts etc.

Justin Timberlake has just been announced as the Super Bowl halftime entertainment, 14 years after he got an eyeful of Janet Jackson's nipple hehe

Given all the UK games this year I think the Vikings / Browns game was probably the best of them tbh. For 3 quarters it went back & forth both ways without knowing exactly who might win. Very much enjoyed the BBC coverage and the banter with Nat, Mike, Osi & Jay once more.

I think I'm definitely going to look into getting a ticket for at least one of the games next year and experience it first hand tbh smile

You need to be quick on the single game tickets as they tend to sell out fast. We always get a season ticket for all the games, and then work out with friends on which games we want to see. If you miss out on the first round of tickets you can always get the second release which is normally a few weeks before the game.

Sign up to ticketmaster and NFL to make sure you get email alerts.

Looks like the injuries are starting to kick in and 'hurt' teams now with results being predictable now.

Feel abit sorry for the Jets and Browns as they seem to put points on the board but keep losing by a a td or two.

Brown's looked good till they had a shocking few mins and gave up lots of yards on penalties and the Vikings got the TD. After that you could only see one winner.

The Jets game looked horrific to play in...raining pouring down.

You guys been tracking the trades this past 24 hours?

Duane Brown from Texans to Seahawks
Jimmy Garoppolo from Patriots to 49ers

And the big one for me is Jay Ajayi from Dolphins to Eagles.

I don't think Carr is firing on all cylinders for the Raiders, his back is still giving him issues. Raiders should sign Kaepernick. Would be an epic lineup to backup Carr

Garoppolo seems odd as he has been with the Pats for a while and you would have thought he is being groomed for the QB role after Tom retires. Perhaps they are looking at another QB from elsewhere?

Also very strange on Ajayi. He seemed one of the Dolphins major threats running the ball.

As a dolphins fan I'm not sure how I feel about ajayi being traded away. Been poor this season always going for the highlight reel run and last year despite getting 1200 yards half of them came in 3 games.

But now our already weak offense is now even worse and our passing game is going to be under even more pressure.
