Went to Wembley for the 1st time yesterday. Enjoyed it, even though the game wasn't a classic.
Credit to the organisers for putting on a show. The 'tailgating' kept me entertained for most of the afternoon, especially when 2 guys throwing a ball between them escalated into full 11vs11 scrimmages.
Ended up in the back row at the corner of the top tier. There really isn't a bad seat in the house.

Never thought I'd ever hear anyone say that about Wembley. Especially when they've only been there once. Are you quite sure the oxygen starvation hasn't affected your brain? Miocene said:
Good game at the weekend with a great climax!
Gutsy call by the coach to go for the 2 pointer & a win rather than a safe 1 point conversion for the tie & extra time. Shame it didn't come off, but i can't believe they tried to throw the 2 pointer rather than run it in tbh - especially given the way the game had gone to that point. That being said - could have been a totally different game had they thrown a TD, rather than the interception, just before half time.

First NFL match at Wembley (been to Twickenham previously)... I wish they'd have the tailgate party open for longer. By the time we queued for some awful food it was closed.
anyone used NFLshopUK - nflshopuk.com?
I ordered a couple of hats from them in mid September and i've not heard anything re the order.
Chased them via email, phone, chat message and nothing - no response from anything over last couple of weeks.
I'm thinking of going to the bank tomorrow to start reclaiming the money paid over - they took that instantly of course.

Quick check of Companies House shows that the company was only incorporated in August this year so could just be a front.
Off to the bank on Tuesday to see if i can get the transactions reversed - they took the money within a couple of days, it's £50 so not massive loss but i'm not going to let them stiff me.

Four Jags players in the slammer in London. Classy.
Naughty boys tried to disappear from the club they were at without paying their bar bill that was circa £50k - i assume quite a few bottles of expensive champagne and impressing the ladies in the VIP then.Evidently they were meant to be on an 11PM curfew as well.
Given some of the other issues the Jags have internally in their team at the moment i wouldn't have thought those 4 have done themselves any favours with their team mates.

So Mike McCarthy has been fired. Meanwhile Marvin Lewis apparently survives again despite the Bengals being embarrassingly poor. I guess it’s all about ambition? Green Bay expect to win and when they don’t they make changes. In Cinci mediocrity is accepted as the norm.
Marvin should have been shown the door 3 seasons ago. Apparently he's tight with the Brown family. His style is proven year in, year out, not to work. Doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result is a sign of insanity. They are a team with talent, but no discipline or vision. Were it not for their sweet stadium deal, which costs the good people of the 'natti punitively, the city would have lost the Bengals franchise (to Las Vegas, I suspect).
Losing at home to Cleveland should have been the final straw. Change (in a fundamental way) is long overdue.

Good effort by the Dolphins beating the Patriots by playing rugby in the last play of the game to score a touchdown!
It was bonkers! BB should not have kicked the field goal. Should have gone for it on 4th down. The worst that could have happened is that we turned it over on their 1 yard line and gave them 16 seconds and no time outs.Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
