Been lusting after one of these for ages, finally came across 'the one'

  • Mint condition
  • Low milage
  • Full service History
My only hesitation is that it is LHD (I'm currently based in Spain) - Does this impact resale in any way? My reasoning is that there would be fewer LHD Esprits in the EU, so that demand should be higher - however I'm not sure if I'm rationalising. I will probably never sell it as It'll be part of the collection, however I'm paying top dollar, so would have greater peace of mind if I knew an exit was an option.

TIA

Hi there,

I would say that perhaps a LH 25th Anniversary Esprit if sold in Europe should fetch more than here. What sort of price are you looking at and what mileage does it have?

That's not a bad price and would be a future investment. There's a RH drive on the classifieds at the moment with same mileage going for £39500. I have a 99MY with 36K and a full 2002 conversion, engine rebuild at 21K and just had engine out for some overhaul works and have been told by my local Lotus dealer that it's now worth £33-35K, so yours sounds about right.

For that price, make sure it's been serviced every year, it should have 12-13 stamps by now. Also check the receipts and see how much has been spent on it.

I can help you out of that one, I used to sell them. Drop me a pm and we'll talk.
Do you not fancy centre exit exhaust?
