a) buy FoS tickets until pretty late in the day every year for 11 years now. It takes some pretty poor planning to not end up with a ticket (all days are still available for 2017 as I type this).
Saturday Festival of Speed is sold out according to this:https://ticketing.goodwood.com/PagesPublic/UserCon...

As a long time GRRC member I don't care one way or the other about the creation of GRRC Fellowship. However as I live about 30 mins (with normal traffic) from Goodwood, one of the big GRRC benefits for me is The Kennels which I use a lot. Also find the GRRC marquees at FoS and Revival useful. If you are a GRRC member you are, I would imagine, involved in running something fairly interesting with two, four or another number of wheels plus an internal combustion engine, and compared to the cost of doing this, GRRC annual subs are not a lot, particularly given the two free FoS Thursday tickets you get.
I have been on the waiting list 4 years. Because of this money making Con (my view) I have unsubscribed from all Goodwood E-mails and this Friday is my last FOS after 5 straight years . I will be taking my cars and money to other events. In my view this is not in the spirit of a club.............paying to wait. and wait...........and wait.

Cant say I blame you. I've been waiting for 5 years I think. Certainly wont be doing a breakfast club again - rammed last time. Will take a view after this year.TonyTwoTribes said:

I would imagine in doing this the waiting list will have dropped drastically. There is a comment that money paid to be in the fellowship will be refunded when joining fully.
If this is the case there will be no additional cost when joining fully.
4 years on waiting list equals £160 which is taken off your initial GRRC membership cost.
Am I missing something ......
What happens when I’m invited to become a Member?
When a space becomes available and you’re invited to the Membership the money you have paid for your time as a Fellow will be deducted from the Joining Fee accordingly. If you wish, you can decide to decline the invitation for Membership and remain as a Fellow, but you will lose your place within the ‘Member-in-Waiting’ line.

No it wasn't, it was extremely relaxed. Not that Breakfast Clubs are GRRC events anyway. And yes, it's been pointed out many times that everything you pay for fellowship is deducted from your first GRRC sub so hardly a money making con. It will be interesting to see what the online coverage of the FoS is like this weekend, I think that alone may be worth the £39 a year.

An update on this - I got a call from someone at Goodwood saying that, as I'm near the top of the membership waiting list, would I like to sign up for the fellowship. Money is refundable when you actually get to become a member. She couldn't tell me how long I would have to wait. Paying to sit on a waiting list, with no end in sight, is a very poor show in my opinion, so I have come off the list. I wonder how many others have done the same. I love Goodwood, I really do, but this 'fellowship' thing is such a piss-take. I suspect others have said the same, hence the telesales approach Goodwood is taking.
I believe the money actually comes off your first years membership which is close to £500 I believe. So if you are on the list for 3/4 years then it’s a good way of paying it for some whilst still recieveing some benefits. However judging by the last breakfast club and the revival I don’t think they’re struggling for fellows. I suspect they couldn’t tell you how long you’ll be on the list as it’s all dependant on drop outs.

So are they saying if you dont join the fellowship you cant (or might as well not) be on the list?No ideas for a name said:

As I understand it, there is no waiting list anymore. You either become a fellow and wait for membership... or you never get the chance.I am a Fellow and on the list. I’ve only been on the list for 18 months or so.
Oddly I’ve checked twice to establish waiting times and on my last call they had gone up!
Checked July 2016 estimated 3 to 4 year wait
Checked May 2017 estimated 4 to 5 year wait
It would be interesting to know what the wait is now estimated to be after the Fellowship introduction.
Does anyone know?
