I'm looking at getting a Z4M Coupe but want to hold out until the prices have flattened out. How long until this happens/has it already happened?

Probably never stop, but 10 years is the usual point it starts to plateau.

Already bottomed out, IMO. I looked at a few in late 2015, before getting the e89 I have now instead. Budget wasn't an issue, but couldn't find one i gelled with. At that time, I was looking at AUC at 18-20k and independents down to 15k. Those prices are same or higher now.

There's just not that many about, and slightly more people who want one, than exist.

I'm happy to be proven wrong of course (I still want one)!

Yes, I think it may have happened already for sensible mileage cared-for examples.

I spend a fair bit of time on a forum for Z4's as I'm on my second Coupe (non M's though) but the 3 litre Coupes also seem to be holding their money pretty well. smile

About 2013, when I picked up mine.
£15k 07 MY, 2 owner, with 15k on the clock.
There were plenty of higher mileage examples available for a few grand less than that.
I've been keeping an eye on prices since then and they've only gone up.

It's a rare car. Less produced than the Z3MC and look where those prices are now.
Hope this helps.

Same for me, I paid £15k for my 25k miles 07 and sold for £17.5k, all around 2012 I think?

I think you have missed the boat.

Not only have they gone past the "bottoming out" stage, they have been well on the ascent for many months if not a year.

This. I certainly have noticed they are not cheap as once before irrespective of what you buy.

You've 100% missed the boat. Prices are up easily £3k+ if not more over last year already as I was looking back then. Stunning car and wish i plumped for one but not sure i'd be willing to pay their current prices anymore better options out there for the money e.g 996

The bottom was 2-3 years ago IMO.

In 2014 I was looking at £15-17k for a decent one and bailed and went for a M235i.
Regretted that and eventually bought a Z4MC last September, 45k miles, £19k. Despite adding 8k miles to it I was offered £21k for it last week.
Not for sale though.

They bottomed out years ago. I sold my Z4M roadster 4 years ago for £11k and now they're so much more like for like. The coupés even more so.

A 3.0 manual coupe did £3000 over cap clean a couple of days ago in auction, think they are on the rise too

Hopefully. laugh

Actually I think it is the usual story - once the top of the range (as in M) models start to climb the other models tend to follow the trend as buyers priced out look for the next best option.

It's interesting now because early E89s are are in some cases cheaper than previous 3.0 coupes

Understandable i guess, given the relative rarity of the Z4 3.0 Coupe

Missed the boat unfortunately. I was looking at Z4Ms when I bought my Elise 111R when both were around £15k, the Elise is now worth about £17k and the Z4M would be about £20k frown
