'Morning All,

I've mentioned this before but can't find the reply. I've a problem with Outlook 2003 that's a bit irritating so maybe someone smart can suggest a fix.

When I fire up Outlook and when I click Send/receive, I get two copies of each mail in three accounts.
These all come from the same server (Plusnet).

It was mentioned before that I may have two .psl files and the fix involves losing one. Sounds simple
but I need to know how to identify which is the one to remove.

I expect this'll involve a system search/delete oepration but I haven't tried at all yet. No panic, I'm just
a bit fed up of deleting junk which I've waited to download.

Thanx

Don't delete one of the files , just rename it (filename.old) and test. This way you can just rename the file with its original name if you still have the problem and then try the other one.

Thank you, speedyman,

If I look via Outllook itself, two .pst files are brought up.

This one appears under 'Personal folders'
C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

This one appears under 'Archive files'.
C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst

I searched 'This PC' in File Explorer, asking for *.pst and got these..

C:\Users\David\Documents\DELLTWO MAIL (935 MB, backup from old laptop)

C:\Users\David\Documents\DELLTWO MAIL (513Kb, ditto)

C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook (118Mb) Probable Duplicate - says it's an archive)

C:\ProgramData\CanonBJ\IJPrinter\CNMWindows\Canon MX430 series Printer (3.1Kb, put in by printer)

C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook (1.02 Gb) Probable duplicate

C:\Users\David\Desktop\PST BACKUP (Backup with today's date.)

So, I have two possible dupes but one say it's an archive. However, I renamed the 118Mb probable duplicate - it was called davhill
and I called it davhill old.

Since hten, I've sent a test mail and received an outside mail. Guess what? Two copies of each.

I think I'm getting somewhere but I'm not there yet.
