Had a great day, arrived at 7.45, zero traffic straight into car park, no delays getting in.

Ride up the hill in the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso

Good to see they had Supercars and timed practice on a Thursday on the hill this Year

Left at 15.45 and drove straight out, no traffic

About the only negative was a good number of cars in the paddock had covers on early on and when we revisited around lunchtime they were still there so not able to see the cars
We must have arrived and left virtually at the same time, zero traffic, parked second row in M - that Lusso sounded great btw, the driver certainly wasn't hanging about.

Ride up the hill in a Cayenne Turbo, Porsche hospitality was v.quiet, loads of outside seats.

Paddock was fine bout 3ish when the Red Arrows went over.

Only complaint, Porsche didn't having a fking clue about where their stands were, and which one was which.

It was our 1st time, camped over night in our T5 so arrived at 8:15, no queues and pretty much walked in.

Didn't think it was particularly busy and managed to get to most of the bits we wanted too. Kids where with us and they had the kiddie events pretty much to themselves, no queuing. Took a pull along wagon so had plenty of food/drinking and pulled around kids when tired.

Leaving the car park was fine, but for some reason they had lots of portable traffic lights that just seemed to make no sense. Most of the marshal/staff just stood around not helping get the traffic flowing, so big queues where building up for no reason.

Found all the staff and most people very friendly. Had a good chat to the military guys and they let my son control the rapier surface to air system, which he thought was amazing.

Not sure I would go back as not sure how much different it would be year on year.

As other people have said I also found the garden crafts a bit odd + did you see the price, something like 9K for that big stag!

Very odd.

Much better atmosphere today, everything seemed more tightly organised, running more smoothly. Basically everyone seemed to be less.... grumpy? Does that make any sense?

Not sure why but a vast improvement over yesterday. Weird.

My mum likes the garden stuff so it kept her entertained rofl

As to not inviting gobstopper back, it’s quite standard to change the line up so that it doesn’t become repetitive (very hard in Goodwood’s case)

Today was around the 15th time for me. I went in '93 and if you want to know about traffic problems . . .

Whilst there is some truth in it being the same each year, my feeling is that there was general improvement for many years. Remarkably so. The rate of innovations dropped and over the last five or so years it has reached something of a plateau. That should not detract from just how good it is though. There's nothing better in the UK and probably worldwide.

Last year I said I would leave it a couple of years. However, I forgot but my wife reminded me on my return today when I said it was very similar.

It is condemning by faint criticism. Today I stood next to cars I saw racing 50 years years ago. I saw the prewar Merc's being fired up. I spoke with ex-Senator Wingard and his wife when next to his 1906 GP Merc and had the controls explained, including the problems of getting in and out of the car, by Mrs. W.

That's hardly indicative of a failing show despite the £18 for a programme.

I agree about the staff. Seemingly only too happy to help. I had conversations with half a dozen different people. Everyone being nerdish helps I suppose. It was a very enjoyable day.

Yet I probably won't go next year.

Strange day, shortest queue I've ever seen at A East going in, was in the Paddock at 7:01. Paddocks were the quietest I've known them for years (they're always quiet for the first hour, but today especially so)

I looked around the Cartier Lawn and after the supercar paddock was still like this...

Took my time heading up to my usual spot at the top as there were so many spots near the house to view from early on, it's usually stacked out with camping chairs. Spent the rest of the day up the top, no space issues whatsoever, worked my way down later and still found good vantage points. Drove straight out and arrived at my hotel in Fareham 40 minutes later.

Organisationally no issues whatsoever, I just choose to avoid the areas that annoy me (i.e. everywhere below the house after 9am). I found the vehicle line up deeply uninspiring, admittedly I've been 11 years in a row so I've got to expect the same old stuff, but this was some way short of even that. Most years they usually dig up something a bit different to mix things up (the Trophy Truck a few years back was great, for example, hill, rally stage and off-road area in one hit) but this year it poor...by Goodwood standards, which admittedly is still pretty exceptional.

Was the blue Honda NSX in the Supercar paddock still roped off like it was yesterday?

I thought "Honda WTF?" as theirs was the only car that people couldn't walk up to, except the unobtanium Ferrari FXXs. Ironically, next to the NSX was the blue Lexus LFA, that's probably worth twice as much as the new NSX?

Yup! Agera and LFA next to it with no ropes! The new Ford GT and FXX's were roped off too, worrying trend.

Also slightly annoying how many cars were still covered this morning, probably 1/5th of the supercar paddock first thing.

Just went today and had a really great time.

Last time I went I didn't really enjoy it all that much and had some abuse shouted at myself and friends just before leaving which left a sour taste in my mouth. But everyone this year was really friendly and actually had some chats with strangers whilst looking at cars which was refreshing.

I arrived in Chichester from the A27 around 07:00 and there was quite a lot of traffic already. Took till about 07:35 to get to the car park but plain sailing once we were there.

Didn't have churros and coffee.

It's easy to winge, but at what other motoring events in the world can you just walk up to and touch a Mclaren F1?

I've not been to FoS since 2015, missed last year and this year too. What I'm interested in knowing is why there are less manufacturer stands than previous years, and also less in the Moving Motor Show area? Is it as simple as costs?

Had a great day today, arrived 7.15 and leaving now - was expecting it to be crap based on yesterday's feedback.

I'm sure it was busier last time I came and definitely less manufacturer places - think it's a sign of the times. Didn't spend as much as time in the main paddock, just looked at things not there before and had a kip given the 3.15am start to drive down.

Still, a good day and less vloggers than I had expected, however the usual one was there holding court for his subjects.

From what I've heard it's cost and after chatting to a dealer in the trade areas that backs it up. The costs have rocketed, they've even increased the track hire 30-35% this year, how can they justify that, they just want the big cash rich corporate brands. They'll shoot themselves in the foot!

Such a shame about the decline of the Thursday motor show, this was always the highlight for me, I can see it dying out in the next year or two and as other threads have mentioned Thursday will just become a practice, media and enthusiast day. The manufacturer's don't get the right crowd/interest over the weekend of FOS to make it pay/justify itself plus the additional expense of making the new cars new again after having 100's of people climb in and out of them.

I went Thursday as I have done for every year since the MMS started, although not as big we still ejoyed it and will continue to go. No ques to get in or out in the car park we use.

Even if you do have to pay the £30 (ish) for a ticket there's not much else that can rival it for value, how much is it to watch a football match, how much is an evening meal out....

I went on Thursday for the first time having been given a free ticket.
We arrived at 10am in a moving line of vehicles. Parking was no problem.
I had a rucksack and expected bag searches. The bag search queue moved, slowly, as would be expected, but when I reached the staff they waved me through saying it was random searches.

Thursday does not have the range of cars going up the hill, I knew that already. The moving motor show was good for those partaking, but I got fed up of seeing Fiat 124s wandering up the drive.
Supercar paddock was very quiet so I got to have a good look at everything I wanted.

I greatly enjoyed the Cartier lawn, 6 Veyrons. two Chirons, F1, Fiat 500 and Steyr Puch. Some gorgeous cars.

I didn’t see the number of bikes in the paddock that I expected, did I miss them or did they arrive on Friday? Saw none riding up the drive.

I took my own food/drink because I don’t like wasting time queuing. Queues weren’t bad today.

Land Rover experience queue was 90 minutes. Who comes to the show to queue for 90 mins?

I walked up to the Rally Section, but still wish the course was more open for greater speeds, rather than a point and squirt bimble through the woods.

I wasn’t used to the grandstands being free entry or that there were acres of empty space at the straw bales to view from.

No toilet rolls at the top paddock gents toilets.

Didn’t see a single Vlogger.

I was surprised conscidering the weather to hear the Red Arrows fly over, but wasn't surprised that they didn't come back.

I had my own radio so didn't need the programme and 'free' radio.

I went with 3 first-timers who wondered why they hadn’t been before and thought it was great.

Left at 6.30pm. No queue to leave.

I want to see more bikes, more riders/drivers and more variety on the hill so will be back to Saturday/Sunday next year.

Went today after missing the last two years, having attended the previous 12+ before. Got home and thought I'll probably leave it another couple of years before attending again. IMO it's just the same every year now.

One major gripe, and it always is for me, are the lack of permanent track crossings. With the amount of cash Goodwood are raking in, is it really difficult to add a bridge (or even a tunnel!) towards the top end of the climb? If you're walking up to the paddocks and on to the rally stage it's really frustrating having to wait for what can be a significant time before you can cross over to the rally stage.

I also noticed a significant reduction in traders this year, and freebies wink Goodwood getting a bit too greedy or the dreaded Brex...?

The one on the Honda stand was the same, surrounded by a metal barrier. I think it's designed to stop people twigging how fking ugly they are

Bikes ran today tribester, so you could consider Friday.

I approached from Chichester on the A27 in the outside lane, as we got close to the Estate both lanes were moving but busy - at the roundabout where you'd do left to the circuit the outside lane got sent right down to Westhampnett, then to Halnaker and in to the estate this way, which took a while, mainly due to distance. Might be best to keep to the inside lane and take the more direct route, even if it queues a bit.

Was easy enough to get in though. Arriving later than 7:30 would get busy I think.

No bag check, people picked at random.

Noticed quite a few foreigners around, Dutch and German mostly it seemed, quite a trek for those guys but does illustrate how big the event is.

Had a good look around the paddock as they got the pre war stuff ready to run and then spent the morning up just before the flint wall that was noticeably quieter than the lower section of the track at that time. Start line is crap, the trees get in the way and you can see little.

Not really my bag, but the drifters put on a good show. Mark Higgins was flying in the Subaru, one of the Penske indycars had a good try this afternoon as well. Did have a chuckle at the dakar truck thing getting out of shape at Molecomb, shaving the haybale and sending marshals scurrying!

Didn't pay much attention to the manufacturer stands, do they really make sales off the back of these things? I suppose they must, given the size of the showroom areas.

Took my own food. £18 program is ridiculous and £24 for an event t-shirt isn't really any better. Left with wallet intact on both counts.

If you want a good look at the runs up the hill and all the other stuff I reckon its a 2 day visit. One day to watch the track and another to look at the rallying / off road and any stands you might be interested in.

Food prices are getting silly, but then that's probably down to the charges imposed on the vendors.

At a lot of the food stores (organic food for example) no seating facilities are provided at all. Its a bloody long day and if I'm paying £8 for a bloody baguette, then I want somewhere to sit when I'm eating. More benches and loos should be supplied around the site in general to be honest. Yes, I'm getting old.

I really get annoyed with people like Honda (they're not the only ones) fencing off cars, like the NSX. The whole purpose of shows like this is to allow people the chance to sit in and feel the cars.

Besides that, its a great event.

Love the look of the new Lexus range, the AMG's and new 911 turbo were fab. The performance car park was excellent, Bonham's auction was a peephole into another dimension (one which I would gladly live in!) and the weather was fab. It would be nicer if the event was more open though, one where all motorfans from all walks of life could mingle freely everywhere, but there are too many no go zones for those without a golden ticket.

Well no Skoda, Seat or VW would be pretty easy to explain. Clearly VAG just decided to send the premium brands and even then they decided to hide Audi half way up the hill.

I didn't see Nissan, Peugeot, Citroen, Lotus or Mazda this year. I know Mazda weren't there but did I just miss the others? At any rate, if all of those were missing that's an awful lot of lost revenue for Lord March.
