Hi all,

I'm back in the saddle for 2018 (last trip 2006), so can anyone advise on what's changed?

Question: would like to buy camping tickets direct from ACO, when does this open to the public and what site should I be gunning for? Ended up at Houx annex before and the facilities were pretty gruby!!

Cheers!

If you buy direct from the ACO without being a member I'm not sure you'll have a whole lot of choice other than Beausejour

My first trip was 2008. Apart from enclosed cockpits i cant think of anything that has changed since then.

My walk out to Mulsanne has become a little built up compared to the wilderness before, and one entrance has changed at the bar/ cafe i eat at, but that seems to be it.

Oh...and diesels are no longer in....and you wont see any Audis

Had the old village been replaced by the neat & tidy soulless one by 2006? The spectator banking at Arnage & Tertre Rouge (?) have been re-done since then, both giving better views now, but with some of the charm gone. Nor sure when the tram lines into town opened, they're an undisputed improvement.

Tram lines into town tell me more.I was a regular in the nineties and naughtiest Bus or taxi If on the amber nectre.Thinking of a last trip next year before the Zimmer frame My last visit was 2009 and ste did we see some changes, mostly for the better. We actually managed a daily shower.Bet ther,s a few croakers out there who can remember climbing out of the window of the Chinese on the Mulsane straight onto the pavement ,just feet away from the action and before the introduction of the chicanes.I guess this might be a good thread,Memories of Le Mans ( if it doesn't already exist).

The tram is great. Get it from the top of the circuit at Antares. It takes you into town and runs frequently and quite late too. A couple of euros return if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure I heard it was new / opened in 2008. It has a stop very near to Tetre Rouge which according to the map is called Guetteloup - Pôle Santé Sud, and it connects to the rest of the network that covers most of Le Mans city. Very frequent, very handy. It also stops at the main railway station which connects to the whole network including Charles De Gaulle airport.

The tram is great.

13 euros for 3 day pass - unlimited trips.

It is air conditioned, but it struggles when full. Quick, compared with driving to and from the circuit.

Two point to alight at the circuit but both require a bit of a walk to the pits. It stops at the Place de la Republic and the Cathedral both of which are useful for food, bars or the driver's parade.
