Another GKN tale; Transmissions built a one-off Lotus Europa (Lotus 47) with a rover/Buick V8 engine. I was exported to the USA eventually and I cannot discover where it now is sadly.
Ah, the Lotus 47D; I'm sure there was something in one of the motoring magazines in the last year or so. I'll have a look later. Off to "Glorious Goodwood" now.

UK registration was GKN47D. I always like the Europa/47 even with its original powertrain, but with that engine it could well have been quite entertaining.

Loved it - and the P6BS even more. How did Rover go from 50s staid to 60s cool and sometimes bonkers(BS, Gas turbines etc ) then racey Daytona alike SD1 in 70s to making granny cars like the Sterling , 620 . and 75 (ignoring the wacky 260 75 )? Oh , and the 25...ahem.... Streetwise ? Something in the water in Solihull?
