First time at the revival for me and the mrs, we got parked at the back of the "over to road" area. Car park resembled a bog, but we got straight in and out using the gate near the campsite.

Parked in Car Park A - having turned right at the roundabout just before joining the road upto the circuit. Everyone seemed to be ignoring the signs and just heading straight on to the circuit.

Drove straight out this evening (not hugely muddy) and was back home in Bournemouth 1.5 hours after getting in the car.

I left at about 4:30 on Sunday afternoon, in an Automatic RWD car with a 3 pointed star and wheels not suited to deep mud, the trick was to pick your route and not touch the throttle, there were plenty of cars stuck and others that seem to be 'enjoying' the conditions, hopefully some of the fresh looking dents I saw on the way back though the field had not been caused by these activities.

I've stopped going to the FOS (too crowded) the Revival is excellent although it seems to be getting busier every year, I'm not sure what the traders think of Event tickets being needed to get in to the Over the Road section now, it must be having an effect (I certainly didn't bother to go on the Saturday in a Classic car as I knew I might not be able to look around the stalls) my favourite Event is now the Members Meeting

It was my first time at the revival and loved it! Getting out of the car park on Sunday in my wheezie old Focus was a doddle. Unlike the expensive cars with their traction control et al. Saw several being pushed and pulled to get them out of the muck. On my way in I was beside an Austin 7 special open top 2 seater. Hope he got home OK!

My only negative comment apart from the huge numbers there compared with 2007 when I last went, is that the aeronautical part (displays) were poor in comparison. That may not be Goodwood's fault as the law pertaining to air displays has tightened, and the Merlin engine problem grounded the BoB fleet.

Lucky you, on Friday nothing flew. The BBMF were airborne again over the weekend but you're quite right, the air displays at Goodwood were limited to flying in an oval on safety grounds which may have been due to the low cloud base as much as anything else.

Glad to hear that the BoBMF are back. In 2007 there were pleasure flights in a Dragon Rapide, but I suspect you're right about the weather as it was terrible most of the time. I shall go again next year and possibly even fulfil one ambition and that's to do the whole three days, in the grandstands and restaurants, and to stay in the Goodwood Hotel. No idea what that might cost, but I'm sure an equity release would cover it...

I don't know the area at all (I drove over from Northern Ireland) but I think I know the roundabout to which you refer. I drove from northern Chichester up the Westhampnett Road and reached a roundabout where the signs suggested only one direction - I ignored them and drove ahead through Maudlin and found myself alone on the road on all 3 days. There was a small and understandable queue nearer to the car park (Park C) but I can only assume that the organisers didn't want people to drive through the village because of complaints from the inhabitants.

I saw only one car stuck in mud, a Nissan Juke - probably the owner was baffled that their "4 X 4" couldn't hack it. I don't understand how people can have such little pedal control. I had no bother at all in my shopping Ibiza 1.2.

Last year was bad on Saturday, but Sunday was baking hot and the mud dried quickly. This year it unfortunately rained at some time on all 3 days and the fields didn't get a chance to dry at all. Anyone who stayed for the last race on Sunday will have felt the backlash of Hurricane Irma, or so it seemed. I was sitting in the startline grandstand and the whole structure was swaying at times, with rain even penetrating the open sides right up at the top.
