Hi All,

My partner has talked about attending this festival for a number of years and this year I want to get tickets as a surprise Christmas present and I need a little help!

Is one day sufficient or should I get tickets for two days?
Would you recommend grandstand tickets or just the general admission tickets?
Is the event suitable to bring our toddler who is car obsessed?

Thank you all in advance for your help

We have often done it in one day but it makes a very busy day , I prefer to do it over two personally.
I recommend grandstand tickets is a nice way to break up the walking to have a sit down and watch the cars going up .
I think it would be ok with a youngster but there would be a lot of walking for them but I don’t. Have kids so someone else will answer that part better for you than I can .

Grandstand tickets are a great way to get above the heads and see the cars going up the hill. It might be difficult with a youngster otherwise. It also gives you somewhere to rest after several hours of walking of if the weather goes British on you.

I agree with the poster above; trying to cover the whole of the event in just one day is a going to be some feat; one approach is to take a tractor ride up to the top of the hill early for the rally cars and then walk down the hill. But apart from the paddocks and hill traffic there are a load of manufacturer stands, supercars, the Concours lawn, the new Futurelab, the lunatics at the GAS, hundreds of smaller vendors, beer...

I would go with two days.Your toddler's tickets will be free anyway so if he's whacked after the first day you can go on your own on the second.

We did it this year with 5 year old twins. It is a lot of walking so we took the festival wagon and put all the coats, food etc in there. When they got tired they sat in and we pushed them around. There was lots of mud so a normal buggy/pram would not have got through.

We camped overnight in our T5 campervan close to the site and so arrived at 8am. We got to see most of it in 1 day and left around 6pm. I don't think I would 2 days with a toddler as ours got quite bored as there isn't a great deal to keep kids entertained. Vauxhall had the best stand for kids and as we went on a school day so it was empty.

I paid for the whole 4 days, but only managed to to make to the Friday Sat. I think this was enough to see , but I did rush to see everything. I think 3 days would be ideal.
