Just arrived: for any Sunday visitors I thought a car park update may be helpful.

As of 1.30 they weren't too bad - that said they are cutting up and I saw a couple of fwd cars being pushed into the metal roadway. Tractor is getting busier.

They are doing their best but bring AWD if you have it

Ps watch out for the slightly portly lady managing the road crossing. She's quite "enthusiastic" about her role

If the 2WD cars are already having trouble ,it's going to be appalling come end of today's action.

Don't even want to think about tomorrow.

Thank you for this. Any updates will be welcomed - likely in a 1979 SL tomorrow so useful to know what is going on. I may make friends with an owner of a 4x4 on site.

Don't suppose anyone has any info regarding disabled parking? Is it hardstanding or the normal muddy-field-but-slightly-closer-to-the-track-than-the-other-muddy-fields? The Beetle ought to be OK in mud but I'm not so sure about the wife rolleyes

The disabled parking area opposite the main entrance looked worse than the main car park, a motorhome was abandoned right at the entrance to that car park (as soon as you drive off the temporary metal road) this morning fairly well sunk in.

I'm guessing they'll have to use alternative fields tomorrow, it'll be a holy mess by this evening (it's not great already, a fair few cars getting stuck leaving).

rolleyes Good ol' Goodwood. As always, they seem the only people who can't access a weather forecast. Or get into the 21st century regarding equal ops

Things seem to be drying out a little - some rwds needing a shove by hand but barring a few people who can't drive (flat out in first for mud, right?) all is ok (or in the car park nearest the roundabout anyway).

Don't panic

You'd think they could make just a little space in the tarmac car park to the right of the main entrance for some disabled parking.

I have come out of the disabled car park about an hour ago and it is not good, I am in an A6 Quattro and got out ok although I turned away from the top bit because it is a mud bath.
Lots of cars and cans being towed to the entrance and the towing guys are working really hard.
I’m going back now so will report as to what it is like now

We left at 3.30pm. Toddler had had enough.

I wouldn't go tomorrow without 4 wheel drive.

Needed a tow (V10 M5) but the tractor crews were super efficient and clearly had loads of practice. My kudos to them.

We were there yesterday (Audi 4WD) and got in and out fine. Bailed out at 11am this morn - just too fking cold.

The way out of the new car park was slithery enough even then, and some poor sod in 1-series BM was beached _on the way in_

Did they not have temporary metal roads down today?

Nope, at least not in the car park I was in - yesterday, we were in car park B (which was south off New Road, just east of Claypit Lane). |Today, they put us in the field to the north of New Road, and we walked across the same car park as yesterday to get to the main entrance or the Bonhams entry.

Did everyone get out ok later on? We left in the very early afternoon and there we stuck cars everywhere and the tractors were working overtime. Did a fair bit of pushing and then borrowed a tow rope and got some people out around us but it wasn’t looking good!

A mate of mine needed his traction mats but got out... I got straight out at about 17:30.
Light on the throttle, maintain momentum. Car park A had no metal roadway but does have several hard stoned tracks that you can head for.

I left fine, was in the uberwagen and managed to get out without a tow. Again light throttle and off.
