Retro Rides Weekender - Any good ?

Just looking at upcoming events at Goodwood and I see something called the "Retro Rides Weekender". I'm quite tempted. Has anyone been? is it worth it?
It looks a bit like the old Guildford Cruise meets I went too about 20 years ago, before the chavs messed them up and the authorities had it shut down.

Mrs. W. and I popped along at midday, we planned to have lunch in the Old Control Tower and see what was happening. However, access to the site was £15 per person so we left again. It's possibly worth it if you spend all day but I'm personally no wiser about what it actually is.
On the plus side, I can confirm that the fields have certainly dried out. The car park was like driving across corrugated concrete.

That's interesting, so you were able to access the site anyway? I was directed to the field and couldn't get past the entrance without a ticket. With no idea what it was, I wasn't going to pay. I imagined from the name that it would be similar to those charity events where you pay for a lap of the circuit in someone else's car. However, looking at their website and Facebook page it seems more like a Breakfast Club with an entry fee and no theme.

Yes although it was around 2:15 when I arrived and the very helpful guy at the entrance did say he was only letting me in because it was getting quieter. I don't think you missed out as on a "normal" Goodwood day there is usually something great going on for free. One day you may be lucky as it'll be the day I pinball my car through the tunnel damaged every panel because I've been a bit too keen (-:

I had a camping ticket. Arrived at Goodwood camping on the Friday late afternoon and left when the show finished on Sunday evening.
The weekend was excellent. Saturday had a load of static displays dotted around, the three paddocks had different themes :
Special saloons and Modsports
Street Machine past and present
Lowrider display
The track action was setup in a sprint format, groups of 4 cars going out for 2 laps at a time and back in. There was a morning session and afternoon session with plenty of variety (from an old Bedford van to a v12 7 series to a super quick vtec Mini.
Sunday was a static display around the circuit with much more cars than the Saturday so plenty more to have a look at, and some awesome stuff there!
There was no one theme to the weekend but the overall vibe of Retro Rides events in general is variety.
The weekend ticket, including camping and 2 day passes was £45 which, for a weekend at Goodwood, I'd say is pretty decent!
