However if a last minute ticket pops up cheap I may take it but they don’t even try selling it anymore so I’m loosing interest.

Noise presumably? Interesting that the RAF have specifically said that Goodwood cancelled the displays.They also are keeping quiet that they’ve just cancelled the typhoon display.
I was expecting an easy win on the air display front for FoS this year considering it's the same weekend as RIAT. Loads of stuff airborne at the weekend which could potentially pop down for a display.

A lot has definitely changed in terms of the information being put out and the event in general. Going back less than 10 years ago there used to be the first "whos driving what" list issued maybe in April. Then 1 or 2 more revisions were issued in the months leading up to the event. Always gave a good idea of what was going to be there.
I think they have stopped doing the press launch event at the house which used to be in February or March also?
In the last one or two years the air displays are either the Typhoon or the Red Arrows. No attempt at variation.
There are a fewer current F1 cars being used on the hill.
A lot more manufacturer content since the moving motor show kicked off. Did the supercars get a much larger paddock last year also?
I'm sure Lord March isn't going to change anything as long as he can keep adding £5 or 6 pounds to the ticket price each year and achieving a near sell out across the weekend overall.
The event is definitely going in a different direction in my opinion then when I first started to attend. I do understand Lord March is running it as a business but the current/future road car stuff is of less interest to me.

I am only going 8 years and I see a definite change for the worse. It has got substantially bigger but no better, I think they have stopped doing the press launch event at the house which used to be in February or March also?

I get a feeling it has been oversold.
I have never come home disappointed but I fear I will.

Just had a look on the app.
Looks like the Blades have replaced the Typhoon for Thursday and Friday. Nothing against the Blades but they will likely be over powered by the noise from the cars etc.
Maybe it is to do with noise etc but with the RIAT clashing I really hoped Goodwood would do something a bit more different for the festival air displays.

Same with every other big event like this, there will always be features that change.
Dont understand why people are so upset about the Typhoon? Its a car festival, I always saw that and the Red Arrows as a nice bonus but not the main attraction.
Its the RAF 100 year anniversary so RIAT will take priority over FOS and as the Typhoon has such a big role it will be needed there.
Audi dont have a stand this year - but this will be due to the fact that there arent really any new cars on the horizon.
And I think they are holding back on who is driving what etc to keep it a surprise - keep the crowds guessing. Personally Id prefer to know but there must be a good reason they dont do these big announcements anymore.
Lord March knows that whatever he does/changes people will pay and the tickets will sellout - unless something drastic happens (like a large amount of people stop buying tickets).
I am looking forward to it - always go for just one day and have loved the last 3 years. finally going on a Sunday this time round.

Goodwood cancelled the Typhoon, not the other way around. If anything the sheer volume of display aircraft all prepped and ready just up the road should have made it an easy year to get something interesting in.And it's not a car festival, it's the Festival of Speed. One of my favourite moments of all time was experiencing the Red Arrows overhead at the exact moment a Lotus F1 car is powering up the hill and over my shoulder an old Escort is tackling the rally stage hairpin, such an overwhelming assault on the senses you'd never get anywhere else.

I feel exactly the same way. Yes I'd love to see them mixing up the batches, maybe gathering together an 80s supercar batch or something we've not really seen before, and I really haven't enjoyed the rather significant creep of areas out of bounds to us regular folk, but for those jaded by it I wonder what else out there comes remotely close? The Member's Meeting is wonderful and I think personally addresses just about every complaint people I've seen about FoS and the Revival, but for me it compliments FoS rather than diminishes FoS. My other big annual event is RIAT and that attracts similarly negative attitudes from a lot of folk, but like FoS it attracts people from all over the world for a reason...it's almost certainly one of the top few events of its type in the world.
I've attended for 10 years on the Friday and whilst I'll follow the same routine every year, stand in the same spot every year and see many of the same cars every year, I still look forward to it more than pretty much any other event. My routine (7:30 - 9:30 in the paddocks, then head up to the top for the runs) avoids the crowds faultlessly every year now and it's been a good 6 or 7 years since I've encountered rude folk with little regards to personal space, but I think that was partly because it felt a lot busier back then.

Wasn’t planning on attending FoS this year. Last minute decision means I’m going on Friday. Always booked a roving grandstand pass in previous years to ensure I got a good view as I’m a bit of a short arse.
No grandstand tickets available anymore. Can any one suggest a decent place for a short arse like me to watch the action on the track?

If you have a key of one of the big brands displaying - their areas are normally quite good. Best ones were always Audi but as they arent there this year I would say BMW or Mercedes would be a good bet. No grandstand tickets available anymore. Failing that either in the field just past the Mercedes stand/first corner of hillclimb stand is good or just before the flint wall
