Are Land Rover as well as Jaguar keys accepted?
Yes, it is a joint stand.

I had to chuckle... sitting in the JLR 'lounge', having been shown to a table and 'waiting for service'... I thought if it is anything like normal service waiting times I will be here two weeks.

Not knocking the people on the stand - actually very good.

Are those of us with Series Land Rovers accepted? probably not based on the the response I got when I ran up a Land Rover dealership asking if they still did Series spares. Best I take the log book as I don't think they would accept the Brit part style keys.

Just saw a Senna and (I think) a 600LT heading down the A3 at Guidford, presumably to FOS. Weird that they don't keep them there overnight, or maybe just reinforcements?

This is why I always recommend arriving for car park opening. Bag pre checked by the staff whilst they were waiting for the 7am opening, straight in...

Entire paddock done in just over an hour just as it started to get busy. Only issue is a fair few of the supercars haven't been uncovered first thing.

Funnily enough, the guy in front of me yesterday was joking he should have brought his S1 key.
Not sure the girl on the entrance to the lounge was fully up to speed with that, but I don't think there would be a problem.

The air conditioning in the JLR lounge was much better than the JLR offering on my car.

Free drinks::

1 free drink (tea or coffee) and a pasty at the Jag/Land Rover stand (up stairs) - by showing your Jag or LR key
Free coffee/tea/water at Mini - up stairs by showing your key
BMW - as discussed - drink(s) by showing your key
Mercedes - tea/coffee by showing key (and a free lanyard)

plenty of water taps to top up your water bottle. Some are branded up. some are just taps outside toilet blocks.

General thoughts to far:

I went on Thursday and back on Saturday.

Fewer mainstream manufacturers. Those who are still there have fewer cars on their stands. Most noticeable was Merc who used to have loads of cars and yesterday had about 6 (2 of which were G63's)

Seems to be a general lesser investment in stalls/stands by everybody. I can only assume Goodwood have probably put up their prices so companies have had to compromise.

Good track action yesterday - more so in the afternoon.

Landrover 70th anniversary

Not only is Porsche and Lotus celebrating their 70th but Land Rover too.

Yesterday they have a procession of old and new land rovers going up the hill.

Question I have is - I missed most of the procession and spent ages trying to find where they were all parked up - but couldn't find them anywhere....

Does anybody know where they all are?

No idea - I couldn't find them either. They seemed to appear by magic.
I did see them come up to the top paddock, and park up but it was tipping it down so I went to hide in the woods.
I don't think they came back down again on the Friday.

The Landies were tucked down service road this morning.

Out of interest, any benefit to being in the Fellowship here at FoS? I'm a member but not aware of anything.

No benefit.

The Landies were all parked in the circuit car park yesterday morning.

And the temporary chicane is only for the manufacturer batch I believe.

I actually thought there was a bit more variety this year... the last few years has definitely felt like the same xxx cars that always turn up being forced to fit the "theme" but this year there were quite a few I've not seen before. Helps if you like Porsches, to be fair, but the Porsche Museum deserve accolade for bringing some genuinely priceless (1948 protoype 356 Spyder, anyone?) and super-rare (Le Mans-winning 917K?) or exciting (959 sledgehammer?) cars over. So if you like squashed Beetles, there are plenty to choose from hehe The Cricket Pitch display is superb, which has been severely lacking in recent years

There seems a lot less F1 involvement than previous years (which is a good thing for me as it's left me utterly cold since the early 90s) although the downside is there's a lot more "fringe" stuff like Drift cars which are a) generally horrendously Pike E lash-ups and b) probably best left in the hillbilly wilderness of Santa Pod. Same irrelevant array of Supercars as every year, complete with STAND BACK DONT TOUCH attitude from Ferrari, as always. Lots.... maybe too many... Astons. Much preferred it when it was the Cathedral Paddock. Utterly couldn't-care-lessedness about the New Look paddock, although at least it served to prove in the flesh just how hideous the SUV abortions from Rolls and Lamborghini are.

However, green shoots of recovery for an event that has lately left me feeling milked out like one of Luke Skywalker's alien cash cows. Thumbs up from me

And it goes without saying that the Style et Luxe is astounding as always. Despite too many 2CVs. No, not TooMany2CVs, too many 2CVs wink

That side of things was certainly a little half hearted. Both in terms of brand presence and how much display they had.

Without naming names you'd think people could bring more of their range and have cars of a decent spec on display.

BMW at least made a bit of effort as did Porsche. JLR was OK too.

Didn't get the bit with the acrobats jumping off the Ford stand... are they trying to say "Buy a Ford, then feel like jumping off a building".

Only kidding, not motoring related but entertained a few prople for a while.

Honda as well, and guarded by two men who had been ordered never to risk eye contact.

Nice engine though:

By some margin the quietest I've known a Friday (11th year for me). Walked the full length of both sides of the hill and have always comfortably got a spot at the rope, even down near the bridge.

Thursday was the only benefit - access to the Kin.... (Grrc) enclosure - but only on Thursday.
