If you’re going from Southampton, take the earliest Southern railways train from Southampton Central station to Chichester station, then get the ‘retro bus’ service laid on by Goodwood from outside the entrance of Chichester train station. The busses use the closed off roads, and cut through the grounds of the house to get to the circuit. It means no one has to drive, and it ends up being a far quicker and easier way to do it. The last train from Chichester back to Southampton is at about 11 at night as well, so you can get the full day done each day.

We did the Kennels last year, and it's nice, with somewhere decent to park, but it is far away from the circuit, and you miss races to get lunch, etc.

The worst bit was that the vintage taxis down to the circuit were all packed up and gone before we wanted to leave, and we were quite stranded until we flagged down a passing Jowett who thought he was done for the day.

The on-site picnic hamper was good though.
