Does anyone know if this still allows entry on Friday?

Edit - thread title should read Bonhams ...

Yes it does for both Thursday preview and Friday. 2 admitted to the event with the catalogue, no entry to the Bonhams marquee without it!

Which makes me wonder is there anyone else in London who fancies going halves - £25 each for Friday entry? I can pick up a catalogue at Bond Street and offer a lift (arrive early and leave at 6 ish)

Furious at the greed of this. 50 quid to get in? I didn’t mind paying 20 and fellowship got in free but 50 quid for the privilege to spend more money is a joke.

It’s a bargain. 2 Thursday and Friday tickets for £50 plus the ability to bid.

GRRC members get in for free on Thursday (member + guest) to the preview; I suppose charging £50 for the catalogue is a way for the auctioneers to keep the numbers of tyre kickers down on the day of the auction itself. in other words, everyone in the room is either a motivated bidder or have enough spare cash sloshing around that they don't mind shelling £50 just to swan about with their kin.

Lots of blazer wearing old biffers and pastel Lacoste-toting hoorays...

Red 5 just sold for £2.4 million, thought it would have gone higher.

The problem with a car like that is the manpower and cost associated with running it which probably limits the potential buyers.

I was at the auction sitting behind a short elderly gentleman with round glasses and a pudding bowl mop of grey hair. He appeared to be the winner of this auction.

I seem to remember that he used to be involved in F1 in someway...

Yes, OMG hammered at a “bargain” £1.4 million.

Interesting auction, prices have certainly flattened and many cars sold for well below estimate. It’s a great time to go after post war semi exotica - Gordon Keebles, AC Greyhounds/Aceca, de Tomasos etc.

Not sure why Bernie was bidding on a blinged up Land Rover though...

Hi there,

Didn't realise that purchasing a catalogue got you into the FOS.

I paid £58 for a Friday ticket and could have saved £8 and got a mate in for free as well.

Will definitely check this out in advance of the 2020 event.

Regards

Tim

I don't think the Bonhams catalogue gets you into FoS - you need an entry ticket as well; it's just that the catalogue gets you into the Bonhams tent on Thursday and/or Friday... (and Sat/Sun if you really want)

Yes - but will add a lot more than that to the value of your Ferrari 250 if you happen to be selling one.

Actually it does - Each catalogue has a perforated page admitting 2 persons on both Thursday (preview) and Friday (auction) to FoS. The catalogue is then used either as a device to gain entry to the Bonhams auction or as a handy step up to be able to view Molecombe from the bleachers.
So for £50 you get £194 worth of entry at 2019 prices. I'm definitely on for 2020 if I don't decide to be a 4-day volunteer.

Used too years ago but they stopped it, indeed you need a valid FOS ticket the catalog is only for the auction.

Hi,

Are you sure ?

Heres a copy of the 2019 catalogue and on page 5 it states

https://images1.bonhams.com/original?src=Images/li...

"This catalogue also admits two to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on the Bonhams auction and viewing days only, tickets are in the back of this auction catalogue. "

That's fantastic thanks. I always go on a Friday and would have loved to pop in just for an hour to look at the entries but wasn't worth spending £50 for an hour. Next year I will purchase a catalogue in advance. (catalogues on the day do not have entry tickets in)

Did anyone see an entry list and a results order?
