And it happens to be the best weather we've had for years this time.

they have ignored 3 attempts by me to get a refund with standard response; we are looking to reschedule and will advise.
... they haven't ignored you then if they gave you a response... the T&Cs says no refund if thats correct ? just hold tight and wait ...
If you look, I was trying to answer the question above to save the guy some time and effort. BTW, I said they ignored my attempts…….. smart arse.

It would have been bitterly cold at the circuit this weekend if yesterday’s bit of exercise in southsea is anything to go by.

My wife remarked this morning that you could tell it is MM weekend because the weather has changed from pleasant and sunny to bloody freezing!

Indeed! Just having sunshine/snow/sunshine/snow/sunshine......very MM! Might open the french doors and wrap up warm while I watch the ‘live’ feed to get the full immersive experience hehe

And then we can start to discuss the possibility of the revival happening in September?

I really think they need to move it into April like they did last year. I realise it may then clash with other events but it's a great day out that can be impacted by the weather.

Read the very first post in this thread. This is the weekend it was originally scheduled for ... and what a great weekend it would have been.

Indeed Ian, It would have been like MM72 which was a glorious weekend and such a memorable event, roll on 2021.

With no end to this at the moment I’m not expecting to hear anything.

I would imagine Goodwood, like almost all other leisure and hospitality based organisations who have had their income stream turned off almost overnight, are just focussed on day-to-day survival and damage limitation at the moment. Hopefully the £300+ I have invested with them for 78MM tickets is safe. And that I'll also be around to one day see the '78th Members Meeting, Take 2'!

Yes it's not just Goodwood, I'd bought tickets for a number of events this year and no-one has offered a refund so far. Mayflower theatre in Southampton has given me a voucher to use against a future production but with a request that I consider forgoing it and donating the amount to their survival fund instead. When even London Zoo is turning to GoFundMe to keep going I wouldn't make any predictions about what the leisure industry will look like when we come out of this.

With regards to 78MM, if it happens at all I'd say it's odds-on that the postponed date will be March/April 2021.

Read the second post in this thread; it was moved back to March.

I agree, had it been April4-5 it would have been great.

My point was that having learned the lessons from 2018 they moved to April for 2019 & 2020 but then reverted to the end of March2020 because of clashes with other events.

I may be wrong but I think Goodwood don't get the choice when there is a clash of dates, they have to reschedule. The governing bodies (Motorsport UK, ACU, FIA, ???) won't allow Goodwood to push on with their events regardless. Perhaps someone in the know can confirm?

A similar issue has happened with the Revival. It used to be held at the end of August / beginning of September, which was handy if you were taking school-age children. But over the last 12 years it has been pushed back to mid-September as the FIA has added more new F1 dates to its calendar.

It seems unfair is that it is always Goodwood that has to move. The GRRC events are well established, they ought to be a permanent fixture which others should schedule around.

I completely agree with this, but a little communication at this time goes a long way, Goodwood has effectivlety been extended a large public credit line. There are people out there now where that this £300 could probably be put to a different use.

If only it was just £300 for the MM, plus add on FOS and Revival tickets with the various add-ons and you quickly get to an eye watering amount.

Well, I seem to be in a mood where I am cutting people a lot more slack than I normally would. If I can afford the MM without eating bread and water , as most of us can , they can keep my money as long as a good part of it, but not necessarily all, can be applied to a discounted ticket next year . We've done the same with theatre and season tickets - and yes. we are lucky to be able to afford to do this .

But , as said, communication is all

Yes, I saw the email from the Duke. Just what we need "To join, please search ‘Goodwood Road Racing Club’ within Facebook"
I don't use Facebook, and not about to start now.
What a waste of time.

Goodwood already has a closed forum for GRRC, why dilute that presence by spilling out on to another commercial platform?

PS. I don't consider PH 'social media'
