Anyone going

Been to a fair few now - mix of a huge static show and 120 pre-selected road legal cars (pre-99) with around 10 (more track orientated) guest cars running up the hill all day

The official videos below give a flavour of the event

Be interested to know what you thought of the show if you went?

I went along with the mk2 golf owners club and had a fantastic day. I'd consider camping there next year even though SW is barely an hour drive from my house.

Its rare for a show to offer such great variety with a mix of show standard, race prep, restored and daily drivers all in one field.

This was my viewpoint for the whole day

I saw nothing of the show field or retro parking and none of the action on the hill apart from paddock and start line

However #blacklinesmatter and we left only 11’s

Reason was I was working

That is an outstanding view point, are you a member of staff at SW?

I spent a bit of time enjoying a cider by the start line giving me a chance to see some of the action & get a good taste of rubber with a bit of clutch mixed inbiggrin I didn't see it happen only the aftermath of the mk2 Escort that sheared it's half shaft but from what I could tell there were very few car casualties which is surprising given some launches/competitive nature of the event!

I managed to walk approximately 4 miles during the day and would probably have covered more had I not spent a while chilling out in the field with the MK2 Golf Guys.

No I was one of a team of three/four running the paddock area for Retro-Rides - Orange T (under red hoodie in the morning) and Orange Hat

Spend the day trying not to get in peoples shots but then gave up saying sorry cos they'll delete them anyway

Yeah very low attrition rate

Scimitar (Gearbox I think)
Audi Quatro was drivetrain too but never found out exactly
Escort Half shaft (was glad that happened on the line - half way up the hill on full chat would have been nasty)
Mini lost the clutch but found it again and carried on biggrin
VX220 - Side impact to a bank on the last run of the day frown

Managed to get 479 runs up the hill in total - little down on last years 515 runs (with 138 cars that's an average of 3.5 runs per car - although I thing the highest number of runs by one non guest was 7 and the highest of the guest was 8) but we had some issues with turnaround in the morning (due to a large number of guest cars that meant we had to change stuff to make it work better)

Sounds like a nice balance to your show experience - I walked 11.5 miles and never left the paddock biggrin

It was a good day I couldn't really get a decent view of the hill climb the but the sheer number of interesting cars made it worth the trip
(my plan was Wilton originally)

I did come home wanting a citroen AX GT/i however hehe

There is always a number of people who don’t get tickets in time due to postal issues - turn up with your email confirmation and you can exchange that for tickets on the gate

In the end I couldn't make it so was going to sell my tickets to a friend but wasn't aware of that so didn't bother.

Great day out, and as someone else mentioned a superb mix of cars of all ilks, and the hillclimb element makes it stand out from other “Static” events. Definitely worth the trip if you are interested In this era of cars....
