Let’s not forget, Goodwood is a business. They have products to sell. If you don’t want to, move along, nothing to see here. No one is forcing anyone to do anything. If you want a refund, you’ll get a refund. If you want to ‘donate’ that’s your choice, Goodwood have told everyone what that entails. The majority of the staff are furloughed, so things may take a bit longer than usual to be sorted, but we’re in unusual times.

Look at what Wimbledon has done this year. Paying prize money to all competitors despite not happening for how things should have been done.
If you think the Wimbledon model is one to aim for you are in luck, the new 5 year debenture period is open. You'll have to enter a ballot for an available place and as very few existing holders give theirs up the chances of success are low. If you are lucky then your debenture will get you one ticket for each day of the championships for the next 5 years (assuming they are held). The cost for 2021-2025 is £80,000.

I was a member of the GRRC since the early days. I dropped out for a couple of years about 5 years ago and was invited back in within 2 years. So I don’t believe the 5 year waiting list bull, they tried that on me this year when I declined to rejoin. I still get GRRC emails and I was not impressed by the begging letters received. Goodwood events have been running for quite some years now, so if it falls on troubled times after a pause of just one year, my thought is that it’s business model isn’t very good. If there are those who want to hand over some extra funds then good luck, but I can’t see Lord March struggling to survive.
