Mine hasn't arrived yet (will post a picture on the FB group when it does wink) but I thought that the paddock club one would be more gold than that I must admit.

I got my pack yesterday, so yours should be with you any day soon, there being delivered by Hermes and the like instead of Royal Mail.

The more I look at my GSA pin I’m trying to convince myself it’s almost a Rose Gold.

I’d be half tempted to get that done or spray it. Imagine the other members faces when they see an actual gold coloured badge….

No events this year, but let GW keep the fees and you get upgraded to Platinum next year (might actually be dull grey though) smile

More seriously, no it doesn't really matter what colour the badge is, but it does seem that GW has a special jig to shoot themselves in the foot.
They can't get Fellows/Associates right, then the offer a 'gold' badge if you decide to donate a bit more to help them, and apparently deliver a bronze badge. No one expects real gold! We know we have done our bit by making the donation, but it all just seems to be a bit incompetent.

I am really not expecting there to be any events this year - not being negative, just realistic. I won't moan about that - GW can't do anything about it. However blindly saying all events will be on is a bit like saying 'there are no tanks in Baghdad' when you can see them in the background.

Over optimistic, with no appreciation of the reality. I know they have to collect as much cash as they can, but they can still be realistic.
As said before - I expect that when all memberships are sold and all tickets are sold, we will get an announcement of delay or postponement.
It isn't good to have a year without generating the 5M profit to feed the estate, but then they (GRRCo) are sitting on 70M assets.

I would be interested to know if many more 'associates' have been invited to be Members (£250 rather than £30 collected)... there certainly seems to be a fair number of new members appearing on the forums - I don't remember this in previous years.

I realise that in the global scheme of things a bit of roundy-roundy racing isn't important at all - but GW could do better for their paying Members and 'Fellows'. I have said before - I don't really know what they can do for the Membership in the future - I just hope we are not milked then ignored.

You’ve just summed up my thoughts perfectly there.

Perhaps a number of members decided not to renew creating availability. I know it's easy to be suspicious of Goodwood but there is always a feasible alternative.

I might go the whole hog and use the rose gold glitter one! I’ll say it’s the VVVVIP version.

Yes maybe. Who knows and doesn’t really matter. Hopefully it survives as a business as lots are going to be seriously screwed.

If it was my business and I had circa 10,000 potential new members willing to pay £300 sat ready and waiting you can bet damn sure I would try and monetise at least half to help my business survive

I'm keeping mine silver and calling it Platinum.

Thanks for uploading the picture of the "gold" GSA badge though; it saves me buying that gold plating kit I was eyeing up on ebay.

Well it looks like we are (currently) going to get all the events this year, which is great news, I've also booked a trackday for later in the year for a day out smile

Looks promising at the moment. Also recently booked a track day, similar reason!

Goodwood are certainly confident, they released more tickets and hospitality packages for FoS at lunchtime today, even for the sold out Saturday.

It still feels unbelievable that we could have a relatively 'normal' FoS in 18 weeks time.

I’m still very doubtful. It’s a very international event and also a lot of multinational companies that are likely feeling the impact of reduced sales. I’d love to be proven wrong.

And don’t forget we can never discount Boris appearing on TV at some point in the next few months and starting with the word ‘Alas’!!

I think GW are being rather over optimistic.
But, what can they do? If they don't plan for the events to go ahead, then certainly they won't.
However, I really think that releasing extra tickets is a bit of a bigger gamble.

I fear we may be at the 'begining of the end' in the pandemic, but mass gatherings may be a step too far too early.
As above , it only takes a spike in infections with variants, and gatherings are going to be put on hold again.

I think we should get away with 78MM. FoS very questionable. Revival maybe, but again not at the 200k attendee level.
