I believe Lola-BRM from my photo title, but could be wrong. Does this help?

I think it’s more like a lotus 23 or similar.

Nope, I'm wrong - seems to be Brabham-BRM BT8:

Driven by Duncan Dayton (the Texas logo on the side matches also)

So it was comprehensively bent in 2004 Revival / Whitsun Trophy, then repaired and 10yrs later sold at auction for USD250k as per your link

Thanks all for the info on that , I was right about it being smashed up but still wouldn't have known what it was if pristine ....smile

I’m fairly sure the bridge is being driven by Covid and the need to keep people spaced out.
The last thing we need is a lot of drugged up people wandering around a race track!

The cynic in me says this is just another ploy to create a 'landmark' location opportunity for a future sponsor.

Well, you can be as cynical as you like , but having been to the early Revivals, and latterly the Members' Meeting , I'd happily admit that some of my best times at race circuits have been at Goodwood . I prefer Cadwell as a place to watch racing cars at very close range , and Goodwood may cost an arm and most of one's legs but it is magic , I don't mind admitting . If the Duke wants to sell some advertising space on the bridge that is fine by me- I am sure it will be in keeping , and not a big ad for Gocompare .

I got very chippy with the hooray element at the Revival , but the last MM in 2019 (which seems a lifetime ago ) was sheer bloody magic. I have never understood why so many spectators have apparently lost the ability to move under their own steam and watch at the chicane (so- so at best ) or Madgwick (good but only if you don't mind looking at the back of people's heads). As said above St Mary's is wonderful , and last time I was there you could count the spectators present with only a few hands' worth of fingers .

From testing at Goodwood recently you can see the bridge is being set up to span beyond the barriers with no impact on run-offs. Not sure how it will be dressed as I only saw the start of the construction.

What a good photo to show how little the new bridge impacted on the views. From that position it almost blends in with the trees on the hills in the distance. I thought it was a good addition and alleviated some of the bottleneck in the main tunnel.

We watched from Madgwick on Saturday and the view was fine but the toilets were an absolute disgrace! The women's sounded worse than the gents from what my wife said, and the men's were pretty awful.

Proper grim, and that's from someone who remembers the folded bit of corrugated iron half sunk at Snetterton you used to wee against and the toilets at Cadwell that had no glass in the windows back in the day hehe

We walked around the circuit and didn’t find any problem with the bridge. The thing that always amazes me is the fact that everywhere around the circuit gives amazing viewing but people congregate making it difficult to see the best racing lines in my opinion.

Thanks!
I posted it without comments as it was originally 'my' thread and I initially thought it would be a negative when it was mentioned in one of the Goodwood emails some months back.
I didn't deliberately frame it in order to hide the bridge - I too was really surprised how it had merged in to the hills in the background.
I did use it a couple of times and I suppose it does make the inside part of the circuit a bit easier to access and therefore more 'use' can be made of what was previously either corporate only, or a bit of a dead end.

Ref the other poster's comments about the toilets... I was a bit disapointed further around the back of the circuit... went for a pee and then went to wash my hands - loads of soap squirted on my hands only to find there was no water to wash it off with. That was on the Friday when it wasn't too busy too.

Did you report them at the time? There were stickers all over them with a number to call and a reference to quote. That would have been much more useful for everyone rather than posting on a forum after the event ....

For what it's worth they were fine when I used them (on Friday). smile

The loo's were a bit grim on both Saturday and Sunday - there simply weren't enough at various bits of the circuit. The opening up of large chunks of infield was broadly pretty good I thought but the catering and lav's were the worst I've seen at Goodwood (which normally gets the details right)
