Hello,

Hope I post in the right section of the forum, let me know otherwise.

The grandstand tickets are sold out for Sunday. As an (expensive) alternative, I am considering buying this "Startline Club" hospitality package. I understand only me can decide if £294 per head is too much money but what would you do? Has anyone here ever bought that package or got any feedback? Any other recommendation?

Plan #B: do you know anyone or website where I could buy grandstand tickets for Sunday?

thank you

Ben

Goodwood's only official reseller used to be twickets.live. I'm not sure if it still is, and in any case I just looked and there is nothing there I'm afraid. frown I would strongly recommend not buying tickets from any other reseller, not only are prices likely to be well above face value but Goodwood can and do invalidate tickets on the secondary market.

I can't answer the first part of your question. I've been to almost every Goodwood event but never bought a hospitality package or even a grandstand seat. I take a camping chair, a bag of food and a large umbrella.

Personally I've never fancied the grandstands as I prefer to get as close as I can which is generally standing at the rope + I find I want to move around too often that I really wouldn't be able to justify it..

Also it's great watching some cars blast away but you don't get to watch the car at speed/being balanced in quite the same way you do at say Molecom..., ( where I think the banking with said chair/cool bag/umbrella Is a good shout )..

If money's no object then why not but otherwise I wouldn't bother..

Thank you too, Edmundo.

I will just follow your both advices and simply get standard admission tickets now.

Thanks again and see you there maybe hehe.

After attending the FOS for the last 20 odd years I’ve never had a grandstand.
Much prefer browsing and viewing from around the hill.

Do you think that’s how it’s going to work this year? We still haven’t had a full clarification on exactly what the operating conditions will be this year. I’m sure it will still be a great event, I fully expect everything to be different in many ways though.

I’ve got it booked for Sunday. Apparently it’s based at the hotel, there will be refreshments available all day, and you get a roving grandstand ticket too. I only really booked it because of the turmoil around exactly what Goodwood could offer, back in January. I’m doing my usual Kinrara on Saturday ( but without the ultimate access of the previous few years).

I booked the startline in 2019 after going general admission in 2018. Main reason being 2018 was a very sunny weekend and there was nowhere shaded to sit - the startline offered an area where myself and my partner could go and relax a bit between wandering about the stands.

Given the grandstand pass/free soft drinks & food/storage for stuff we had bought & transport to & from the car park to the hospitality area I thought it was value for money

That’s good to know.

I thought I would add an update after the event just in case anyone is looking at this thread for booking tickets next year.
We decided to get tickets for the start line club hospitality because of the unpredictable weather and wanted either somewhere to get out of the sun or out of the rain that wasn't going to be too busy. We attended on Sunday where it was neither too sunny nor too rainy, so really didn't make as much use as we could have.

The start line club was based in the back garden of Goodwood hotel, whilst this made for a nice setting in my opinion it was a little too far from the main action. We like to be based up near Molcomb and in hindsight we made a mistake of picking a hospitality package just too far away for us. But putting that to one side it was a good setup.
There was a range of free food throughout the day, all good quality and well-prepared without too much of a wait for it. There seem to be a good mixture of covered seating and outdoor seating and it was a nice relaxed environment.

If I was doing hospitality again I would try and find something that was more in the middle of the action even if it was a little more expensive.
All in all another great Goodwood visit.

I enjoyed the fact that it was just a bit away from the action ( by about a few yards) it was a nice relaxed atmosphere, the wood fired pizza was lovely, the staff were lovely, and I really enjoyed it. A ( very short ) walk to the start line grandstands / super car paddock was fine by me, and we got a really good view of the red arrows display too. All in all I think I’ll do it again next time, as I found it really useful, and loved the laid back ambiance.

Then you need to look at the Clark Pavillion, that's the one at Molcomb, around £900 ph if I remember correctly

.

I don’t know how Silverstone hospitality was this year, but I’ve previously done paddock club, and drivers lounge, and found ( particularly) drivers lounge, to have a lot of corporates trying to impress clients. The clients seemed far more interested in the free booze, than the event. That was completely at odds with Goodwood.
