GRRC new benefits

Is there any advantage to buying tickets early? I’ve never used that benefit.
Isn't it the discount of 15% on the Member Meeting tickets, that normally stops on the 31st of December, it's normally GRRC, then fellowship after a week or so, so it give full members the opportunity to book their tickets / any other options first for all the events.mk1coopers said:

That would make the paddocks unbearable as even at £79 people would snap up membership. Paddock passes although not allowed to be sold often go for higher on eBay.
I’m a full member (despite the bull that a fellow is higher than a member in any walk of life) but have yet to see the renewal increase costs.
However all of the changes I see as a positive but only if the increase in cost is sensible.
I can see test says being a touchy subject for the photographers, I commented on one of the photography groups and instantly had comments turned off so I suspect they expect some unhappy people.
Goodwood also seem to be turning comments off on any topic regarding the changes despite an initial positive response.

The only post on which I turned off commenting was the original announcement: the comments on one other thread were, I think, switched off by the OP. I have been replying to many comments on different threads regarding the new benefits. I'm sorry if you have been unable to comment - do feel free to email me or the GRRC team if you have any questions. With best wishes, Sarah
Doesn't performance parking have vehicle criteria link to it though ?, there's already forward GRRC parking area's at the FOS and Revival. I'm sure the team are looking at what can add value to the membership without increasing costs, the recent use of the Aero Club roof at the Revival was good, the introduction of the GRRC Breakfast club is another good event.

Fellowship changes listed here (getting close to the old GRRC benefits without kennels / paddock passes) https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/grrc-membershi...

Can you actually enter the test days with a 'Fellowship' membership?GRRC benefits here https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/grrc-membershi...
Doesn't actually mention anything about being able to enter them, reads to me like they're trying to sell an appeal of being able to merely attend them:
"Formerly available to the public, next year these days will only be open to the GRRC, giving you the exclusive chance to see some of the stars of the upcoming events putting cars through their paces for the first time."
Bit naff if so.

Eh? They’re test days for the MM and Revival not days for you to drive on track? Unless of course you’re racing at the events. Doesn't actually mention anything about being able to enter them, reads to me like they're trying to sell an appeal of being able to merely attend them:

I emailed the club as they mentioned fellowship would now have access to tours and drives. I was concerned that as it’s taken over 9 years of applying to actually get on a tour (tomorrow) and the regional drives that the more southern ones have been booked up quickly would it have an impact on us if they’re combined.
The response back skirted around the issue and just suggested they’re looking to have more than ever. Read that how you may but I take it as 14 years to get on a tour and you’ll be lucky to get on a regional drive that’s south of London.
Edited as realised it’s not 7 years but 9 years of trying to get on a tour.

I was literally only using my Fellowship to access MM tickets (what other benefits were there?!) so it's nice to see some genuinely useful stuff, substantial increase in price though, I guess offset a bit if you do buy FoS and Revival tickets.
Given how easy it is to buy weekend MM tickets on here I'm not completely sold on continuing. Revival paddock access, even if just on the Friday, would have kept me in for sure.
It seems a fairly large number of Fellows didn't even know they were not on the waiting list (you have to opt in, apparently), I've just realised I'm not!
I cancelled my membership for not having access to the paddock, to look around the cars. I went to Revival last year and some doddery old fella told me I needed a paddock pass, even though I was a full paid up member. A switch flipped in my brain, which drew the line on my continuing donations to goodwood, as that’s essentially what they were for the last 10 years. I don’t think I used it for anything other than the festival or members meeting.
Not sure why I bothered now, should have just put the money to hospitality at the BGP or festival.

If you’ve been a member for 10 years then you’d have certainly known about the requirement to get paddock passes with your tickets.

Are you attached to Goodwood in some way, or just a patronising random?

Nope certainly did not. Last year was the first revival I’ve been too.

Literally every newsletter around revival time says “don’t forget to order your complimentary paddock passes” (obviously they’re not complimentary your membership paid for them) Are you attached to Goodwood in some way, or just a patronising random?

Nope never read one, am typically too busy to. But here’s an idea. Instead of making members piss around ordering tickets, get them to show their badge or their card to aforementioned paddock guardian and just let them in.
Then can’t really complain that you weren’t let in the paddock if you haven’t bothered to read what’s sent out. It’s been discussed after every year and I agree it’s not a perfect solution. I believe why they issue paddock passes is to stop people claiming they’ve lost their badges paying the extra £20 and then you’ve got 4 people in the paddock instead of 2. The benefit of paddock passes is your +1 doesn’t need to be with you or your badge.
