Hey. How early do you suggest?
Arrive before 0900 although this year I left at our regular time of 0800 for a 30min journey coming from the west and it took an hour! So possibly aim earlier.

Take your own food. My mate was charged £11 for two ice creams and a drink.

Daylight robbery. Definitely buy some Asda ice creams and a bottle of lemonade and cart them round in a cool box. Iceland may be even cheaper. There's a good fiver to be saved.

Friend of mine books an Air B&B 10mins away. Just a hut in someone's garden

Does anyone know the size of the camping pitches at Goodwood? Could you squeeze 3 small two man tents on one pitch?

9x7m a pitch is for 4 persons so if anymore in the group using the pitch you have to pay an additional £51

Anyone who has booked the Angel Hotel in Midhurst, I'm afraid sadly you're going to have to make alternative arrangements. frown

Could say that about any town or city however most people aren’t staying in those places.

If you're staying in Waterlooville or Havant then you're nowhere near Pompey.

Sorry my example was there are just as rough / rougher places in Waterlooville and Havant. I’m sure your original post was in jest but some PH’ers might see that and look elsewhere and end up paying more or having a longer drive in when it’s perfectly fine.

I've stayed in Portsmouth every year for about 10 years (for either FoS or the MM, sometimes both) and can confirm I still have 4 wheels on my car. Nice easy drive out after the event (and back in the next morning), usually no more than 25-30mins.

Prices usually take a while to catch on to the Goodwood events, usually have a week or two after dates are announced before surge pricing kicks in. In my experience that's unlike many AirBnBs nearer to Goodwood who will jump on the dates immediately and double/triple prices.

Usually chain hotels such as Premier Inn or Village for me, quite often (particularly for FoS) they will put breakfast on really early as plenty of teams/staff will fill the hotels out that way, and everyone is heading out by 7am.
