OK , but its hardly unique to Goodwood is it ? I buy tickets for gigs , other motor sport events , fishing permits etc online and they all demand this level of information. Modern world innit? I'd rather give Goodwood my (very dull) personal details and attend than sit at home moan about it .
Ive no objection to e-ticketing when done properly; I boarded my flight yesterday with nothing but a QR code screenshotted from the airline's website.
But to get I to FoS tomorrow I have to rely on a shoddy app that crashes one out of three times and can't find my tickets another third of the time. Apparently FoS has more stringent ticketing requirements than squeezing 150 people into a pressurised tube flying at 30000ft.

AFAIUI, the ticket should have an animated 'spinner' in the top left. A screenshot obviously has a static version.For 83MM, the ticket checking people were told they could ignore the spinner - and therefore scanning a static image would work.
There is no guarantee that the instruction to ignore the spinner is still current.
Of course, you can't be worse off!
Weirdly, I went to the app today to resignedly put in my entire life history, as required since I had no choice (already paid for the tickets), and it just let me register and log in without any of it! Baffling!
Anyway, I have the tickets now, and there is indeed an animated spinny thing on them at the top left (hadn't noticed it before).

My digital tickets for tomorrow have only just shown up. Cutting it fine.
For grandstand passes, I assume you have to visit a ticket booth anyway to collect the tags?
I'm in Performance Parking West.
First year I've been without hospitality and with the digital ticketing, previous years the tickets handily all came in the post, including the swing tag thing I needed.

- The first time you use the grandstand they scan your ticket and then issue the usual pass.

A tip for anyone at FOS. Along with the app they beefed up the WiFi. When in the car park try to join it. When I joined it at MM my tickets instantly worked. Also, logging in that morning when you have WiFi or signal and before you get to Goodwood also really helps.
Agree, appears they boosted WiFi by the gates (certainly the one I entered by).However, the app still struggled switching between 4G and Goodwood WiFi when I tried to pop back to the car.
Another 5 mins of buggering about with closing the App, opening it, rebooting the phone etc.
Compare that to Le Mans, not once did I have any issues whatsoever there getting in with a digital ticket. In France, on 4G.
The number of entry gates maybe, but not the actual access and display of my ticket.
The funny thing is, Le Mans went through this exact same thing with a dysfunctional app for the first couple of years.
It's hardly Rocket Science....

Always the way - Silverstone they appear on the day of the event, for example, similarly with gig tickets. Pleasingly there were no issues (for me) vs the Members meeting back in April which was a nightmare with the digital tickets, presumably having learnt from that event.For grandstand passes, I assume you have to visit a ticket booth anyway to collect the tags?

As of today, the tickets are there in the app, but I will take a copy of my account with me.

This. I’d be really surprised as well if they retained paper tickets for the grandstands. It will be a QR code again.
