This. I d be really surprised as well if they retained paper tickets for the grandstands. It will be a QR code again.
From the Goodwood site...

Roving grandstands

Upon arrival at any of the roving grandstands, please show your QR code in the Goodwood Tickets app and a member of the team will provide you with your grandstand swing badge. This will allow you to hop on and hop off the grandstands as and when desired throughout the day.

Seated grandstands - Chicane

Upon arrival at your grandstand, please show your QR code in the Goodwood Tickets app and a member of the team will provide you with your grandstand swing badge. This will allow you to hop on and hop off the grandstand as and when desired throughout the day.

So I presume this will be the papers/card tags of yore.

Some had problems with it, others didn't. If you don't like it, don't read it and certainly don't comment! It's a bit like the ability to change the TV channel when you don't like what you're watching.

The digital anxiety... it worked OK for me all three days. Bit slow to load sometimes, but OK.

Swing badges... had no seat number, so there were more people sitting in the wrong seats, accidentally or otherwise. I was able to get them to move, when it suited me.

So overall, I suppose it was OK.
Would still prefer paper.
