Wasn't there a near revolt and breakout of parc ferme a little while ago where 'a few' GT40s were found to have roller rockers?
There was no attempt to hide it or break out of parc ferme for the GT40 with the roller rockers, the roller rockers were seen during the post race capacity test where you have to remove the rocker covers to disable the tested cylinders valves from opening to do the test.

It was in the St Mary's saloons the same year that the owner took their car out of parc ferme, not complying with the scrutineers request for the same capacity check test.

Both cars kept their result.

These were 18 years ago. I'm not aware of any other GT40 or removal from parc ferme related issue at Goodwood.
I wasn't talking about Bellm in 07 (although I recall it was a couple of cars that refused capacity checks?).

I was thinking of a repeat of it in either '22 or' 23, but it wasn't something I directly saw (previous years I'd have been on the pit wall for that race) just heard about over a pint.

I can't help thinking about the GT40 entries that seem to have taken a nose dive over the past two years - 4 I think this year.
Has the discussion subject influenced this?

It'a pity because it was a major draw for me.

I looked farther afield and discovered the Spa Six Hours last year and the race was utterly epic.
You needed to be there for the Whitsun Trophy in 2013. biggrin

I was there -2013 - It was a "Victor Kiam" moment - "I liked the product so much I bought one".

The GT40 with the illegal engine was 18 years ago.

A GT40 against a period spec CanAm car doesn't stand a chance, but the CanAm cars have had their performance pegged back by Goodwood to bring them closer. It's not really the right race for a GT40, Spa and Le Mans classic are more suitable.
I concur - Having been honoured to pilot my GT40 on the Le Mans Circuit and Spa, the car is in it's natural born home range.

My bucket list number one - La Source - Eau Rouge - Raidillon - Kemmel - Rain - GT40 was life changing.

Highly Recommended.

They are also great to see on a tight circuit such as Goodwood.

....... and iii) there is a much longer gap between the motor bikes at around 12:30 and the RAC TT at 2:30 meaning 2 hours with nothing happening. I am sure this is to encourage people to visit the traders.
I suspect, it's more to create a longer lunchtime 'window' between races for the hospitality venues, allowing the wealthy and corporate to nosebag fully without missing any track action while doing so
This also gives the track marshals a break and a chance for lunch...
Most race meetings I attend have a 1 hour lunch break for everyone, including the marshals.

Usually one make/one type races are not the spectacle everyone thinks they'll be.
