Lol, who else has a strava mate that's gone out in the storm just for PB's?
Mine has set just under 29mph on a 3 mile segment aided by a 30+mph tail wind. The daft git =)
My route to work had a plumb 45 mph tail wind. Unfortunately that was when I would have been due to ride home from work. So I drove. Mine has set just under 29mph on a 3 mile segment aided by a 30+mph tail wind. The daft git =)
I just did a short ride that I reckon is around 45K ish.
Strava said it was 75K, looking at the trace on the map, Its zig zagging constantly. off to the side of the road, back n forwards! It's why its added 30K to the distance! It also said my max speed was 115Km/h
I've elected to tick the box that says "don't put this ride into leaderboards"
I suspect it's my Phone as much as anything. Any word on a Element Bolt for GPS accuracy?

Seems, umm, pointless...

I think I saw someone on bikeradar recently saying that they draft any and every car they can in order to grab Strada KOMs.

Most serious cyclists tend not to take in city KOMs too seriously because of car drafting etc. Main road 10-20mie cycles up hills are much more kudos worthy! Seems, umm, pointless...

You must live somewhere other than the south of england if there are any 10-20 minute climbs for you to KOM :PHah!
Strava? All is forgiven. The new look web interface, the non-chronological activity feed, and anything else I've bhed and moaned about.
Why?
Because as of this morning, I can upload photos direct into my activities from a PC. Just like PistonHeads has been doing for years and years. Strava users have been asking for this feature for at least the past two years too, going by thread on their support website. And Strava themselves told us back in October that it would be "a matter of weeks".
It is now being "slowly rolled out". I wasn't among the first to be able to add photos, but now I can. I've just got to find a few pictures worth uploading now...
Oh, and to check if you've been included in the roll-out? Click on the 'edit activity' button (pencil icon on the left side of the page). Under the 'title' and 'description' boxes, and the privacy option check-boxes, there should now be an additional 'Photos' box. Here you can drag and drop pictures, or click a box to upload photos a bit like on PH.
Hopefully this'll be of use to anyone who hasn't already heard about the roll-out of this feature. It's definitely good for me,because I don't have a smartphone, so I can't upload via the Strava app, nor via Instagram.

Does anyone know why Garmin connect and Strava refuse to speak / synch / communicate at the moment?
Mine just fall out every so often. I think it’s artistic differences. Disconnect and reconnect seems to work.I did an activity (sadly something called a “run”, it’s like cycling with no bike, not recommended) last night and it syncd perfectly from Garmin to Strava, so it’s not a global thing
I've just found Stravistix and Strava Sauce for my desktop. Am I late to the party? Gives an awful lot more info, probably more than I need but I like some of the features such as an indicator on each segment time on the list of how far behind KOM and whether ahead or behind on previous time.

The Pistonheads photo uploader is shockingly bad. 2Mb limit in 2018! I will have to do some searching fo fellow Pistonheads types on Strava. I'm a recent convert to Strava Strava? All is forgiven. Guys how easy is it to upload rides from the wahoo element bolt to strava? Thinking of getting one as my garmin 800 is doing my nut in with all the faffing about uploading rides via cables etc.
You link your Strava account and all done automatically at the end of the ride.Very happy with features, ease of use, performance, reliability of my Bolt. Would recommend.

Recently the Android Strava app has started notifying me whenever a particular friend uploads an activity
In Settings-Notifications the only relevant one I can find is "Friends Activities - Notify me when my friends post interesting activities", which I've just turned off, but if it was that doing it, why would only think this one friend does interesting stuff?
