Anyone got any experience of Schwalbe Luganos for commuting on the puncture front? They're prefitted to my new bike and I'm wondering if they're worth swapping straight away to something like a gatorskin for the winter.
They're what came on my CAAD8. They're nothing special but do the job. Lots of little cuts in the surface, but only one puncture in six months, and that was a 5mm long shard of glass on a wet evening.

Puncture last night on the way home. Couldn't believe it rofl
I don't want to laugh along with you, because Karma is a bh. But I feel your pain. wink
Having told a mate I rarely get punctures I've had three in the last week, including two last night - one in each wheel.

I used to swear to the joys of Armadillos, now I just swear at them. hehe

They will lose their ability to resist over time. If you shoot an armadillo enough times with a shot-gun, you'll kill it eventually.

It's all gone a bit quiet in here. Have we all hung up our spd's for the year?! Nice tootle in this morning with the sun shining down & a strengthening headwind, although a bit leggy following a week off for biblical rain dodging. Should make the return leg a quick one.

Nope, if I get home tonight I'll be two for three this week.

If the weather is fair, I'll be taking a scenic route home too, since the missus is out tonight, and I fancy avoiding the big pile of washing up for as long as possible...

Just started cycling to work regularly. Only about 3 miles each way, through Bath city centre traffic.

Much better now the bike is commute-focused with rack, panniers and mudguards. My exercise day is now cycle to work, run at lunchtime, cycle home - duathlon races here I come!

For you guys who commute in and leave your bike in the office, where do you leave it?

I leave mine behind my desk against an unused filing cabinet, 'hidden' by a chair with my cycling gear on it; I get in before everyone else and leave just before everyone else so as not to be a hazard to them and use the lift to get up and down the 2 floors....

But the work Health & Safety Nazis want me not to do this........mad despite me stating I was going to do it when I got the bike and they didnt object then

I'm still very much commuting smile

In fact, I drove today (I have to drive somewhere at lunch, and go straight out after work, and I have to do the same tomorrow tomorrow), and it annoys me when I can't cycle now - I feel like I'm wasting it hehe

Started wearing the new merino base layer I have (on a night ride last night, too) - very impressed with it, seems to keep my temperature just right.

Still riding here. Kit is gradually shifting to winter attire. Overshoes for the first time ever today, numb toes are a thing of the past!

No records being set today though, hanging from circuit training yesterday and depressed having seen the plan for a TA weekend ahead. To give you a clue, sleep isnt on it.

It’s a good temperature at the moment shame it’s so dark.

Very keen to keep up the momentum through winter. Last year discouraging weather and being too festively refreshed too often meant weeks of tubing it in.

I beg to differ, I find this temp a PITA. You need something to keep the wind off now that there's a chill int the air, but I get too hot wearing even the thinnest windproof, breathable outer layer. I prefer it when it's either hot, or proper cold.
This.

Must admit I'm one of those. Not keen on the rain or the 25mph headwinds down here on the coast if I'm honest. Still, I did set a wind assisted record today. Strava says I hit an average of 18.4 on the Rockhopper.

I've been cycling pretty much every day for the last 3 or 4 months and I also lament the darkness!

I find that my fleece is working well though. I sweat enough that I have my suit and shoes at work and only bring shirt / pants etc and shower at work. So with my hump back covering my stuff I just think I will accept getting wet and so not really considering a waterproof at the moment but when it gets heavier rainfall more often I will perhaps have to look about. frown

I don't mind the wet, I can get clean and dry at either end, it's the lack of brakes in the wet that bothers me as long as I've remembered to protect everything in my bag from the water. Nothing worse than getting to work and opening your bag to find a wet shirt hehe
