Just checked... I ordered mine on 22/09 and it was delivered yesterday (09/10).

Let's see how long the new order takes to arrive - ordered 09/10.

If they're as good as you all say i'm half tempted just to order another one now rather than wait hehe

You need three really. Two on the handlebars and one on yer lid.

Found some more improvements over my original ones last night:

1. The reflector in the original ones sat inside the retaining ring screwed into the side of case. There was a small plastic washer to prevent the reflector's contact with the electronics leading to the CREE. The new one has the CREE mounted on a properly formed plastic carrier which helpt to locate the centre of the reflector.

2. The rubber O-ring that forms the water-resistant barrier between the bezel and the lens is green and glows for a minute after you turn the light off. It looks really cool and forms kaleidoscopic effects in the reflector. This was the part my 7yo son loved most.

What are you doing with all the battery packs? Two velco'd to the frame and a third in the jersey pocket?

I'm still experimenting.

I have the handlebar-mounted light batteries in the saddle-pack with velcro straps around the cables and bike top tube. The helmet battery is too heavy really for the helmet and a cable running down to a pocket is a bit inconvenient.

It's all a bit of fun really - not taking it too seriously (no-one actually "needs" that amount of light). The two on the handlbars are easily enough, and will be especially so once the prismic lenses turn up (increases the width without increasing the height). I've got the light mounted on the helmet quite adequately but the battery does add a lot of weight/inertia.

I am going for something like this when I get some more lights.

but one thing I don't do is leave it charging overnight or when I am out of the house. I normally charge it in the garage away from anything seriously combustible.
This great advice. I charge mine in an old biscuit tin with a notch cut out the top smile

It'll keep him warm...

I have the battery for my bars light strapped under the stem, and the one for the headlight goes in a pocket.

These lights are phenomenal - my new hobby is night riding!
I have two on the front, one with a beam widener lens from ebay, PLUS a bright dynamo powered lamp too.
On the back there is one dynamo light, one 0.5Watt thing, and one magicshine 818.

shout CAN YOU SEE ME NOW?
Yes, they can. Vehicle drivers don't pull out in front of me when I'm approaching, (of course I make sure the lights are not blinding anyone they are pointing maybe 5 meters ahead at the road).
There is absolutely no excuse for anyone not seeing me, my lights are brighter than some cars.
Off road they are great too, as I can angle them up a bit to light up the hedgerows and further down the path.
Just need to sort out some warmer clothes now the evenings are getting cooler. smile

I have an 1800 lumin version on my helmet, only done a short ride so far and it was great!

Thinking of getting a lower lumin version for my handlebars to replace the UltraFire torch.

I've been experimenting with ideas for fixing the light closer to the helmet and have settled on this:

I really should have taken pics of it whilst disassembled but I am reluctant to take it off now because it involves stretching the O-ring quite a lot, which was no piece of cake.

If you are interested, I will disassemble and photograph the pieces but it might not work on your helmet. Mine's a Specialized Tactic.

The little bracket came with the Hope QR brackets. I'm not sure what it's for because I don't use that piece for mounting the lights onto the handlebars. It is basically L-shaped with a bottom horizontal part of the L looping around for (presumably) a bolt hole. I cut a slot so I could locate the O-ring then looped it around and over the bracket again. Dead simple.

It might look as though it is pointing too far down but a quick wander around outside suggests not.

Now... where to put the damned battery? Pocket or geeky weighty helmet mount?

Ooh, I should have thought about that. Nice one. The Camelbak Mule is full of nik-nak pockets.

Thanks. thumbup

Odds-on it'll be the same lumens as the rest of them e.g. the '1200' we all seem to be buying at the minute. These figures are marketing puff - I think the Cree T6 in this application actually puts out around 800, maybe 900 lumens, according to one seemingly knowledgeable source I read.
