What's lady cannings like? I don't like relatively flat man made trails and Everytime my sheff mates say 'ride this before setting off back' I always decline and stop off off the A57.

It was fun, but I wouldn't travel to it especially, we did it at the end of a longer loop. I can see that it would be good to do laps of on a summer evening to improve technique.

View from Bradley’s Head - popular spot for weddings, friends of ours married here a few years ago, it did feel quite special...

So, it wasn't today, more like Saturday, but who's counting?!

Took the Slate which is the most recent addition to the stable out for a play in the woods. It's such a capable and fun bike to ride on this sort of terrain you end up going looking for places to ride off-road just for the hell of it.

Good to see another Slate owner. Have you changed the tyres for something more suitable for off-road than the originals?

Yes, Schwalbe G1 something or other. They are shockingly good in the mud, as you can see above! (Spot the tyre smile)

I've also changed the mech and rear cassette to something better for off-road climbing. I think it's 11-40 at the back now, which is perfect.

I’ll have you know it’s now nearly light by 8am and dusk at 5:15pm where I live so it’s only a matter of time before I have some images of my bike with a view of the latest waste incinerator against the backdrop of a loaded small timber ship in Shoreham harbour......

You’ll wish you were in Blighty I can tell you wink

Couple of days with DH Guide Canarias, did about 70km down all sorts of terrain, mostly rocks over two days. Major arm pump.

Well, this isn't actually Shoreham, but it's less than two hours ride away!

Yup! Rode the whole way with the sun coming up behind me, kept looking over my shoulder expecting something special, but until then it was disappointing! Another ride where I thought I had time to kill, and end up pedalling like a bd to not be late for work...

At least you got out.

48km 1090m climbing in very windy conditions, seemed always in my face for some annoying reason, anyway hard work on a 170mm travel Enduro bike.

Where is that?

My day wasn't too much of a success. Sealant failed to seal a hole in the tyre. Had to drag to the bike to be swept up by the broom wagon.

Gran Canaria, it's been great. Funny you mention tubeless seal fail today - I sliced my front tyre on a rock about a 6mm slash, it wouldn't seal so used a tubeless external fix noodle thing. To my amazement it worked perfectly.

.

17km & 660m climbing today
